On the Road – Ridhanvi’s Car

The car moved smoothly along the highway, the evening breeze slipping in through the half-open window. The golden hues of the setting sun bathed everything in a warm glow, but despite the beautiful scenery, something felt off inside the car.

Ridhanvi stretched her arms, letting out a relaxed sigh. “Achha hua humne trip plan ki... warna pata nahi ghar par sab bor hote,” she said with a smile, glancing at Reyansh, who was focused on driving.

The atmosphere should have been light and joyful. They were on a trip, after all. Yet, from the backseat, Shridha couldn’t ignore the suffocating silence next to her.

Shivay.

He wasn’t speaking. He wasn’t reacting. He just sat there, staring out the window, his hands clenched into fists on his lap. His face, usually calm and composed, was now stiff with tension. His jaw was locked, his eyes distant, and his ears had turned slightly red—a telltale sign that something was very wrong.

Shridha’s heart tightened. She had seen him like this before, but never this intense. Something was weighing on him. Something was breaking him from the inside. She wanted to ask—desperately—but she knew this wasn’t the right time. Not with Ridhanvi and Reyansh in the car. She didn’t want to worry them. So she swallowed her concern and forced a smile.

“Haan… plan bhi tumhara hi tha na?” she replied to Ridhanvi, trying to sound normal.

The others continued their conversation, unaware of the storm raging inside Shivay, but Shridha couldn’t look away. She kept watching him, hoping he would turn to her. Hoping he would just say something.

But he didn’t.

And that silence spoke louder than words.

In Another Car – Adhya, Anupriya, Vidhyut & Aruhi

The gentle hum of the car filled the air as Anupriya gazed out the window, a quiet sense of nostalgia washing over her. She hadn’t planned to join this trip, but sitting here—among these people, among her people—felt strangely right.

Adhya sat beside her, gently cradling the sleeping Aruhi in her arms. She adjusted the little girl’s position, pressing a soft kiss on her forehead. A smile tugged at her lips as she turned to Anupriya.

“Achha hua, Aunty, aap yaha aa gayi is car me... aur Aruhi bhi isi car me aa gayi, warna Adhrika aur Agastya ko time nahi milta.”

Anupriya turned to her with a warm smile before softly saying something that made Adhya’s breath catch.
