The days turned into weeks, and the weeks stretched into months.

Seungmin never expected to find peace in someone’s arms. He never imagined that he could wake up every day and feel so cherished, so wanted. Damien had given him that—love in its purest form.

Damien never rushed him, never pushed him beyond what he was ready for. He was patient, steady, like an anchor in the storm that had once consumed Seungmin’s life.

And now, months later, as Seungmin sat in Damien's luxury penthouse , he realized something.

He couldn’t picture his life without Damien anymore.

And little did he know, Damien had been feeling the exact same way.

-

Damien had known from the beginning that Seungmin was the one. But he also knew Seungmin needed time—to heal, to trust, to believe that love didn’t have to come with pain.

So, he had waited.

Now, after months of watching Seungmin bloom in his care, after hearing his laughter fill the empty corners of his penthouse, after holding him close through the nights, Damien was certain.

It was time.

He wanted Seungmin for the rest of his life.

That’s why he had spent the entire day making sure everything was perfect.

He texted Seungmin earlier that morning:

Damien: Meet me at our park after work. Don’t be late, love.

Seungmin, curious but unsuspecting, had simply replied:

Seungmin: Okay! Is something special happening?

Damien: You’ll see.

---

The sun had long set by the time Seungmin arrived at the park. He adjusted the sleeves of his soft beige sweater, his dark jeans hugging his legs just right. He had dressed simply, not expecting anything extravagant—after all, it was just a casual meeting at their usual spot.

But as he stepped onto the path, something felt… different.

The park was unusually dark.

He glanced around, his brows furrowing. Is Damien late?

Just as he was about to text him, the park suddenly lit up.

Soft, golden fairy lights wrapped around the trees, twinkling like stars. A gentle breeze carried the scent of fresh roses, and before he could even react, delicate red petals fell from above, swirling in the air before landing around him like a dream.

Seungmin’s breath caught in his throat.

And then, there—standing a few feet away—was Damien.

Dressed in a sharp black suit, his tie loosened just enough to make him look effortlessly handsome, he held a bouquet of deep red roses in one hand. His gaze, dark and intense, locked onto Seungmin’s with an emotion so raw, so overwhelming, that Seungmin swore his knees almost gave out.

"D-Damien?" His voice was barely above a whisper.

Damien took slow, confident steps toward him, his lips curving into that charming smile Seungmin had grown to love.

"You’re looking beautiful," Damien murmured, his deep voice carrying through the quiet park.

Seungmin blushed furiously, his heart pounding against his ribs.

"What… what is all this?" he asked, voice shaking slightly.

Damien didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he placed the bouquet in Seungmin’s hands, letting their fingers brush—just a small touch, but enough to make Seungmin shiver.

Then, before Seungmin could process what was happening, Damien slowly lowered himself onto one knee.

Seungmin’s breath hitched.

"Seungmin," Damien started, his voice softer now, but no less steady.

"From the moment I met you, I knew you were different. I knew you were someone I wanted to keep in my life, to protect, to cherish. But I also knew I had to be patient, to give you the time you needed to heal, to trust me."

Seungmin’s grip on the roses tightened, his vision blurring slightly.

"Loving you was the best thing  I’ve ever done," Damien continued. "And now, I don’t want to spend another day without you knowing just how much you mean to me."

From his pocket, Damien pulled out a small velvet box.

Seungmin swallowed hard, his heart hammering as Damien opened it—revealing a breathtaking ruby ring, set in an intricate silver band. The deep red stone gleamed under the fairy lights, rich and mesmerizing.

"It’s not a diamond," Damien said, eyes flickering up to Seungmin’s, "because you’re not just anyone. You are fire, passion, and warmth. You are strength and resilience. And you deserve something just as unique as you are."

Seungmin’s lips trembled.

"So, my love," Damien said, his voice dropping into something deeper, something that sent shivers down Seungmin’s spine. "Will you be mine? Will you let me love you the way you deserve? Will you be my boyfriend?"

Tears welled in Seungmin’s eyes.

He had spent so long running, so long fearing love—afraid that it would come with pain, that it would be something he could never truly hold onto.

But here Damien was, showing him that love could be patient. That love could be safe.

That love could be his.

Seungmin let out a shaky breath, his lips curving into a smile even as a tear slipped down his cheek.

"Yes," he whispered, voice thick with emotion. "Yes, Damien. I’ll be yours."

Damien exhaled, as if he had been holding his breath, and in the next second, he was on his feet, wrapping Seungmin in his arms, holding him tightly against his chest.

Seungmin melted into the embrace, burying his face in Damien’s shoulder, inhaling his scent, feeling his warmth.

"You’re crying," Damien murmured, pressing a soft kiss to Seungmin’s temple.

"Shut up," Seungmin sniffled, making Damien chuckle.

Damien pulled back just enough to cup Seungmin’s face, his thumb brushing away a stray tear. "You’re mine now," he murmured, his voice rough with emotion. "And I’ll make sure you never regret it."

Seungmin smiled, leaning into his touch.

"I already don’t."

And as Damien slid the ruby ring onto his finger, sealing their promise, Seungmin knew—this was the beginning of something beautiful.

This was the love he had always dreamed of.
