Jeongin's P.O.V

The heavy gates of the mansion creaked open as I stepped in, jaw clenched, head spinning. My mind was still trying to process what I saw at the penthouse. Seungmin. Alive. Standing there like the past didn’t burn everything down.

As soon as I walked into the massive living room, their eyes turned to me, Bangchan, Felix, Minho, Hyunjin, Jisung, and Changbin, each of them caught mid-conversation, their moods instantly shifting when they saw my face.

Bangchan stood up slowly, the tension in his shoulders sharp, when he noticed my expression “What happened?”

I looked at all of them, my heart pounding against my ribs like it was ready to burst. “I saw him.”

There was a pause. A beat of silence that cut deeper than any blade. And then Felix, blinking in confusion, asked softly, “Saw who?”

I could barely say it. “Seungmin.”

Hyunjin sat up straighter, frowning. “That’s not funny.”

“I’m not joking,” I snapped, voice cold, body still trembling from the encounter. “He opened the door. Looked right at me. He’s alive. He’s here.”

Minho stood frozen, disbelief written all over his face. “No. No, he can’t be. He ran away. We looked. We searched… he vanished.”

Changbin muttered under his breath, “We thought he was gone forever.”

Bangchan’s jaw tightened. “He was gone. ” he muttered under his breath, running his fingers through his hair , before I dropped another bomb.

I’m telling you, I saw him. He’s living in Damien’s penthouse.”

The room froze over like ice had shattered in the middle of the air, especially bangchan who looked like he was hit by a truck , after hearing what I said , probably thinking what seungmin was doing there with his stepbrother.

Jisung narrowed his eyes. “Damien? That ruthless bastard? What the hell is Seungmin doing there?”

I don’t know,” I admitted. “But it didn’t feel like he was just a guest. He looked comfortable. Like… like he belonged there.”

Felix frowned deeper. “That doesn’t make sense. After everything, why would he show up again… now?”

It’s not just that,” I whispered, dread filling my chest. “The way he looked at me. He was terrified. Like seeing me brought back everything.”

Minho’s tone was low. “He remembers.”

And if he talks…” Hyunjin added, brows furrowed.

Bangchan was quiet. Too quiet. The gears in his head were moving—slow, dangerous.

His eyes met mine. “You’re sure it was Damien’s penthouse?”

“Yes.”

He didn’t say a word as he pulled out his phone, the room holding its breath.

Chan,” Felix said carefully, “what are you doing?”

Bangchan’s voice was ice. “I’m calling Damien.”

Damien P.O.V

The soft hum of the AC filled the dim penthouse. The city below continued to move, but up here, everything had fallen still. My arms wrapped tighter around Seungmin’s sleeping body, his breath slow, almost fragile. Whatever he saw today, it shook him to his core. And that alone was enough to awaken the kind of rage inside me that even I had buried.

He didn’t speak much. Just said he saw someone from the past. Someone who hurt him.

He didn’t need to say more. His trembling body, the way his voice cracked over the call earlier, I understood enough. I kissed the top of his damp hair, still smelling faintly of his shampoo, my jaw tightening.

Anyone. Anyone who dared hurt him…

I’d rip them apart with my bare hands.

A soft vibration buzzed against the coffee table caught my attention. My phone. I slowly unwrapped myself from Seungmin, laying a pillow beneath his head as he mumbled in his sleep, clutching the sleeve of my shirt even in his dreams. My fingers gently loosened it from his grasp before I reached for the phone.

Bangchan.

I stared at the name for a second, brows twitching.

My stepbrother rarely called.

Lifting the phone to my ear, I stepped out into the hallway and answered, “Chan?”

There was a pause.

“You sound soft,” Bangchan’s voice hummed. “Did I catch you at a bad time?”

“Not at all,” I replied smoothly, masking the leftover warmth in my tone. “Just had to put someone to sleep.”

There was something odd in the silence that followed.

“You… entertaining someone?”

I smirked, leaning against the wall. “You could say that. He’s important to me.”

“Really?” His voice sharpened. “That’s new. Since when do you let someone close enough to stay the night?”

I chuckled lowly. “What’s this about, Chan? You didn’t call to chat about my love life.”

Another pause.

Then came Jeongin’s voice in the background, too loud for it to be a whisper. “Tell him. Just fucking tell him already.”

“Tell me what?” I asked, my voice going flat.

Bangchan exhaled through the receiver, suddenly serious. “Who’s the guy with you?”

My brows drew together. “Why?”

“Just answer.”

I straightened, my voice coming out little cold but laced with possesiveness. “His name’s Seungmin.”

The silence that followed wasn’t just tense. It was violent.

“You said… Seungmin?”

I didn’t reply. My eyes narrowed, chest already tightening.

Is he small?” he added carefully. “Doe eyes. Soft skin. Looks like a goddamn angel when he sleeps?”

My spine went cold.

“How the hell do you know that?” I asked, my voice darkening.

There was a pause again.

Then, slowly, Bangchan said, “Because I thought he disappeared.”

A growl rippled through my chest before I could stop it. “What the fuck are you talking about, Bangchan?”

The call ended before I got an answer.

I stared at the screen, heart thudding, the fury inside me suddenly roaring.

What the hell… do they know about my Seungmin?

I turned my head slowly, back toward the sleeping figure curled up on the couch, completely unaware of the storm waiting to erupt.
