The day passed slowly as Seungmin moved from task to task. At lunch, he found himself chatting casually with his coworkers, finally feeling a bit more at ease in his new environment. He laughed along with their stories, his usual reserve melting away. Damien, meanwhile, was immersed in meetings, making deals with some of the most powerful business figures in the industry, signing contracts, and commanding the room with his natural charisma. His focus and determination were palpable, yet his thoughts would occasionally wander to Seungmin, counting the hours until their evening together.

As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, signaling the end of the workday, Seungmin gathered his things, feeling an odd flutter in his chest. He knew Damien was waiting for him in the parking lot. Exiting the building, he stepped into the cool evening air, making his way toward the familiar black car parked by the far end.

Damien was leaning against the side of his car, his appearance disheveled yet effortlessly attractive. His tie hung loose around his neck, the top two buttons of his shirt undone, exposing just a hint of his toned chest. His sleeves were rolled up, revealing strong forearms with prominent veins, and his dark hair was a bit messy from a long day. He held a cigarette between his fingers, taking a slow drag, his eyes half-lidded as he exhaled, sending smoke into the air. He looked every bit the devilishly handsome CEO that people whispered about, a man who seemed untouchable yet completely captivating.

Seungmin’s heart skipped as he drew closer, his footsteps catching Damien’s attention. Damien turned, his gaze softening at the sight of Seungmin approaching. He couldn’t help but smile slightly, enjoying the way Seungmin’s presence seemed to brighten the evening.

Seungmin felt his cheeks heat as he took in Damien’s appearance, looking disheveled yet refined. The faint smile on Damien’s lips, the way his gaze lingered, made Seungmin feel a warmth spreading through him. But as he neared, the smell of smoke wafted toward him, and he scrunched up his nose, coughing softly.

“Ah—!” Damien’s eyes widened slightly, and he quickly tossed the cigarette to the ground, stubbing it out with his shoe and waving away the lingering smoke. “I’m sorry, Seungmin,” he said, his tone genuinely apologetic. “I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable… I won’t do it again.”

Seungmin smiled, touched by how quickly Damien responded, his willingness to change something so small just for his comfort. “It’s okay,” he replied softly. “You don’t have to be so careful around me, but… thank you.” His words were gentle, forgiving, and Damien felt his heart swell a little at Seungmin’s warmth.

They stood in silence for a moment, just enjoying each other’s company under the soft glow of the parking lot lights. Then, Damien’s gaze turned more intent as he spoke, his voice low and inviting. “I was hoping… maybe we could have dinner tonight?” he suggested. “At my place?”

Seungmin hesitated, his nerves surfacing as he considered the invitation. “At your penthouse?” he asked, a hint of doubt in his voice. It felt like a big step, and though he trusted Damien, he was cautious.

“Yes,” Damien replied, his gaze unwavering, a subtle warmth lighting up his expression. “Just the two of us. I’d like to spend more time with you, without all the distractions.”

Something in his tone reassured Seungmin, and after a brief pause, he nodded. “Alright… I’d like that too,” he murmured, his cheeks tinged with a slight blush.

The joy on Damien’s face was unmistakable, though he kept it contained to a small, satisfied smile. He’d already told his driver to leave earlier in the day; he wanted to be the one to take Seungmin home tonight. “Let’s go, then,” he said, opening the passenger door with a slight bow.

Seungmin chuckled at the gesture, a newfound comfort filling the space between them. As they settled into the car, an easy silence took over, each glance exchanged saying more than words could. Damien glanced at Seungmin beside him, his heart beating a little faster, realizing he hadn’t felt this kind of happiness in a long time.
