With Sonic

"The hard way it is."

The cockpit to the Eggpod closed and Dr. Robotnik gave chase to Sonic, firing laser blasts at him, only to damage certain road sections. He turned left to continue the pursuit. He turned to see Shadow and Silver falling behind. Good, he didn't want them getting involved in something he was at fault for.

"That was an illegal left, by the way!" Robotniks voice brought him back. Call him a hypocrite but GOD could this guy ever shut up.

The pursuit led on as Sonic continued to dodge laser blasts from Robotniks, even sliding under a large trailer to avoid them. "How is this possible?! Nobody's ever caught up to me before."

He pushed his legs faster, holding a ring and planning the next location. He threw it and ran through, Robotnik close on his tail. He felt
guilty leaving his brothers behind, but he knew Shadow helped grab some rings, he'd get them away. 

The ring opens and he sees a mime entertaining a little girl and her mother. He swerved to avoid them. "Coming through!" 

Robonik followed and the mime barely had time to jump out of the way. "Sacré bleu!"

Robonik looked back. "Escusez-moi, monsieur!"

Sonic threw another ring out of desperation and suddenly he was running along the great wall of China. "Here we go! Room to open it up!" The two increased their speed until Sonic tossed another one. "I can't lose him!"

The sands of Egypt greeted him, he squinted and blinked harshly against the sands as they flew into his eyes, on top of continuing to dodge multiple laser blast from the Eggpod, which was destroying the sphinx in its wake. Sonic skid to a stop. "If you can't beat 'em, blind 'em." He held the sand in his hand, letting it slowly trickle back to the ground. Before he sped back up to Robotniks and used his speed to create a tornado of sand, which disrupts his vision.

"Lost... visual contact!" When the sand cleared he viewed Sonic speeding up the Great Pyramind of Giza. "You're not allowed up there! It's one of the 7 wonders."

Dr. Robotnik blasted out of the tornado, and just as Sonic opened another ring portal, Dr. Robotnik fired a laser blast at Sonic, sending him flying through the portal and hurtling him onto the streets of Green Hills where he lay motionless and unconscious.

Dr. Robotnik menacingly appeared through the portal as it closes. Silver and Shadow zoom out of where they were rushing through town with Maddie and Tom. Shadows eyes shifted, his normal broody eyes widening into one of panic. "No!" He ran forward and held his little brother, cradling his body as Silver slid next to him, holding Sonic's head and running a gloved hand through his quills.

"Sonic?" Silvers voice cracked.

Dr. Robotnik laughed maniacally and took off his flight goggles. "You're astonishing little creatures. It'll be fun to take you back to the lab for a litany of invasive exploratory procedures. Any last words?"

Sonics eyes opened, his eyes cloudy as he lifted his head and mumbled. "Quac... i like that word..." He slumped back. The three brothers lay tangled up together, both hedgehogs distraught holding the youngest between them.

Tom appeared behind Dr. Robotnik via a Ring portal as the man continued speaking on. "I don't have to tell you how many scientific breakthroughs have been made possible by animal testing. You're being very selfish."

"Going my way?"

Dr. Robotnik turned, noticing Tom for the first time. "What the--"

Tom punched Dr. Robotnik, knocking his flight glasses off his head, and the two started fighting inside the Eggpod. Dr. Robotnik grabbed Tom by his shirt. "Who the hell do you think you are?!"
