The group of four got to the roof of the Transamerica building where they met with Silver. The adults let Sonic and Shadow out of the bags.

Shadow stepped out calmly, smoothing his quills down. Sonic came out much more chaotically, coughing and gagging and wearing a pair of underwear on his head.

"Ugh! What were you keeping in this bag? A jar of pickled farts?!" He exclaimed as he took the underwear off his head and threw it back in the bag in disgust.

Tom ignored him as he brushed his hands off on his pants. Maddie turned to the hedgehogs. "Okay so what now?"

Shadow grabbed the bag of rings. "Now, all I have to do is think of where I want the other end of the ring to appear, and I throw it."

"So that's it? We did it?" Tom asked, a weird tone to his voice.

Silver nodded happily. "We did it!"

Tom smiled then turned to Sonic. "Sorry we didn't get to do everything in your bucket list pal."

Sonic, who had been quiet the whole time smiled softly. "It's okay, I did the ones I needed the most."

Shadow pulled Sonic into his side for a hug as Silver gave messed up his quills. Tom smiled at the scene.

"You guys are so cute!" Maddie said smiling.

Shadow snorted. "Oh please."

"What?" Silver questioned.

Sonic shook his head. "We are not."

Tom turned his head towards Maddie. "We're not cute."

"We are a couple of loose cannons just living by our own rules."

"Exactly."

Maddie nodded her head, unconvinced. "Really?"

"And our rules include expressing heartfelt emotion!" Silver added, a bright smile on his face.

Maddie laughed and agreed. "If you say so."

All three hedgehogs stood there, their hands wrapped around one another's shoulders. "Okay then." Shadow sighed.

"All right. Um, you gotta go, right?"

Sonic nodded a sad smile on his face. "Yeah, we gotta go."

"I gotta go." Tom gestured to him and Maddie. "We gotta go."

"See-- All right, bye-bye." Silver said and the trio turned around, their backs to Tom and Maddie for a moment before they turned back around. "Just one more thing."

Tom steps forward and kneels down to their level.

Shadow nodded his head at Tom. "Thank you, for getting us here." He paused for a moment. "Even though we more than likely could've gotten here anyways."

Tom let out a small laugh and Silver ran up and hugged him as he whispered in his ear. "We totally wouldn't have. We would've fallen into the pacific."

Tom laughed again before his eyes turned to Sonic, whose gaze was on the floor. "I'm sorry I was so hard on you. I know it's a tough decision for you to leave Green Hills. Walking away from something you care about has to be painful."

"You're not sure you really wanna go huh?" Tom questioned and he saw Shadow tense out of the corner of his eye.

"I don't want to go, but we can't stay. As long as we're here, I put everyone in danger." He held up his hand to Silver and Shadow when to protest, silencing them. "I'm the one who kept going out and i'm the one who put us in danger. I want to stay but we can't do that. I just want you to know that these last two days have been the best two days of my life."

He smiled at Tom as the man stood back up. Putting his arm around Maddie he said. "You know I never thought i'd say this, but i'm actually gonna miss you devils."

"Miss you too Donut Lord. Thank you."

"For what?"

"For saving our lives." Sonic smiled.

The hedgehogs turned away and Shadow threw the ring. He tossed it, only to have it bounce off of one of Dr. Robotnik's flying drones as more of them started to close in on the group.

The trio backed up, the brothers held protectively in each others grasps. "Okay did someone leave their find my phone on?" Sonic questioned. Silver gasped.

"I knew i forgot to do something!"

Shadow pinched his shoulder making the silver hedgehog jump. "You don't even know what that is."

The trio continued to step back a few feet but they stopped at the edge of the roof, seeing a flying aircraft overhead, which was Dr. Robotnik's Eggpod. The ship hovered over to the group and the cockpit opened, revealing Dr. Robotnik with an evil grin on his face.

"Welcome to San Francisco, Mr. Wachowski. Are you enjoying the clam chowder?"

Tom turned to Maddie. "It's the government whack job who keeps trying to kill us." He turned to Dr. Robotnik. "Unsuccessfully!"

The remark made Dr. Robotnik scowl as Tom continued on. "Nice of you to swing by on your way to Comic-Con."

Maddie nodded. "Yeah, what are you wearing?"

Dr. Robotnik looked at his suit and the back to the group. "It's a flight suit, designed to modulate my body temperature and reduce," He clenched his teeth and growled out the last word. "drag!"

"Yeah, and yet you still are one."

The crazy scientist smirked. "Oh-hoo! Good one. You are catching fire, Thomas. Oh, and speaking of heat, I see you've taken a lover. Does she have a name, or should we just call her "collateral damage?" He chuckled and drummed the sides of his eggpod with glee.

"Hey, watch your mouth! Unless you want a little more of what I gave you earlier." He turned to Maddie. "I punched him in the face."

"Oh! He punched him right in the face!" Sonic laughed.

"It was awesome!" Silver said as he smirked at Dr. Robonik, who was practically shaking with rage and embarrassment.

"The time for talking is over!" He looked at Sonic. "It's time to push buttons!" He smirked as his eyes bounced from Shadow to Silver. "And there seems to be two more rodents to dispose of."

Shadows jaw clenched, activating his shoes as Silver levitated off the ground, glowing a soft blue. Sonic smirked at his two brothers before turning back to the scientist. "Your flying eggs are pretty impressive, Mr. Eggman, but let's face it, you'll never catch me!"

Dr. Robotniks smile dropped into an angry frown. "Confidence! A fool's substitute for intelligence."

He opened a button capsule as the energy from Sonic's quill powered the Eggpod and the flying drones readied their weapons.

"That's not good." Silver pointed out.

"Guys, I know you got the super speed and powers and everything, but Maddie and I—"

"Totally defenseless? Probably gonna get blown up?" Shadow said, straight to the point. His deep voice sounding bored, masking the inner worry he held.

"Pretty much, yeah." Maddie agreed.

Sonic nodded. "Don't worry. I know exactly what to do."

He jumped up to the side wall and jumped
forward, pushing Tom and Maddie off the roof, and they scream. He turned to his brothers and the stood in shock at what they just witnessed. Sonic hugged them both tight before pushing them off as well.
