Across the vast yellow sky, the scarred Saiyan flew back to his father. The messy-haired warrior wore a worrisome expression as he neared the cave he called home for decades. He tightened the grip around the crimson band as Raditz's words kept echoing within his head. He didn't like what the long-haired teen said about his father. The one-eyed man was far from perfect, and despite the occasional wrongdoings, he still raised him in this lonely world. However, the moment he tried to reason with himself and find good arguments for his father's doings, the bad ones outweighed the good. Distant memories of his father's first treachery surfaced, along with the memories of what Paragus did to his one and only friend, Ba, and the night when he got stuck with the gray necklace.

Unaware, Broly clenched his teeth as a low growl emitted from his throat. The tanned giant landed several steps away from the cavern and approached the home with a dangerous look in his eyes. However, his eyes softened upon hearing pained wails. The dark and terrible feeling vanished when he listened to his father's voice. He shook his head and tried to ignore the faint voice in his head. His black spheres drifted to the crimson band. Despite having a verbal fight with the long-haired Saiyan, he wished they could still be friends like Ba and him once were.

The Saiyan stepped inside the cave and immediately gazed at his father lying near the cold wall. He glanced to the side and noticed his father had yet to eat. The teen let out a sigh, upon which Paragus finally turned around.

"Broly, you're back. With good news, I hope."

As he stared at his father, a sudden scene proceeded. He took a simple step forward and punched Paragus so viciously through the gut, ending the man's life. Broly instantly shook his head and looked away with chilly sweat rolling down his face.

"Well!? Don't stand there like an idiot! Tell me, did you find and kill that worthless low-class!?"

Reluctantly, Broly gazed at his father and weakly nodded. "He is dead, but I didn't kill him, Father... I found this in a spider nest south of here." He approached Paragus and handed him the crimson band.

The older Saiyan held the band and brought it closer to his eye. "Hm, if I remember correctly, the little insect wore this on his arm and thigh.." Paragus inspected it thoroughly and noticed the blood all over it. "South, you say? That's the nesting ground of those gigantic spiders. Hah! That poor fool wasn't even aware of the dangers lurking in this wretched world!" He laughed loudly until the pain in the chest resurfaced.

Once the discomfort subsided, Paragus looked at his only son with a stern expression. "Broly, are you sure he is gone?" His tone changed as well, which Broly didn't like.

Broly nodded once again and spoke. "Yes, father. There was only blood and that in the nest. Someone that weak can't beat or escape the spiders." As he mentioned the long-haired Saiyan, he wondered what Raditz was doing.

Paragus stared at Broly for a few seconds until he burst out laughing again. "Good riddance! You got what you deserved, son of Bardock! I hope you died a painful and gruesome death!" The one-eyed male chuckled as he tossed the crimson band away.

"Good work, my son! See, if you continue to do as I say, there won't be any need for this."

Broly's eyes quivered while Paragus played around with a little device. "Y-Yes, father." He responded meekly as he sat down and reached for the meat on the floor. While he chewed on the stiff flesh, he was curious about his people. "Father. Can you tell me about Saiyans?" After all, Paragus never told him anything, and ever since Raditz showed up, he was increasingly curious to learn more.

"There's nothing I can tell you."

However, Broly wanted more than that answer. "What about Bardock? He wasn't your friend?" The tanned warrior devoured the meat while his father glared at him.
