A D I T I

My eyes fall on the black shadow walking away as I press the phone to my ear. I took a step forward, my hands grabbing the window sill as I saw him walking away.

The cold wind slaps my face leaving goosebumps and a reminder to wear warm clothes. It felt as if someone had their eyes on me, as if they wa—no, I am just overthinking. For a moment I tell myself that it was my illusion but I can be right too. No one can dare to stand in the yard of Abhay's house except for his bodyguards.

“Hello?” Lyla’s voice from opposite the phone brings me back to the topic we were discussing. I agreed to go on the trip and my best friend can't help but think about it a lot.

“Back to earth, my lady. Your only best friend aka the gorgeous girl has a lot to talk about and as your best friend's sexy friend you should listen to her.” I blinked my eyes and closed the window.

“I am on earth, my gorgeous girl.” She giggled at my words and I walked to my vanity table.

“Okay so I was just talking about the trip. You better pack some warm clothes and do not fucking dare to fall sick,” I hummed at her words. She’s like a nanny, she keeps nagging me unnecessarily.

“Also make sure to carry your medicine and safety stuff.” She added and I hummed again.

“Adi! Stop giving me dry replies, even David was good at giving responses.” She mutters, sniffing which gives me an assumption about her cold.

“David also made you cry but I didn't.” I applied the lip balm on my lips before pouting and mixing the lip balm. “David….is cute,” She fights, taking the side of her ex. This bitch-

“And I…am pretty.” I replied looking at the mirror.

“And together we are delusional.” I laughed at her words before parting my lips to speak when a voice reached my ears. “Omg! Abhay! What…Happened to you?” I heard Mahi’s scream which might have awoken the dead spirits sleeping in the corner of this house.

“What was that?” Lyla murmured and I stood up walking towards the door of my room and spoke. “No idea, I need to check.” I stand at the side of the couch which is blocking the door and  pushed it so I can open the door. I stepped outside the room, walking towards the railing as I looked at Abhay.

“Holy shit!” I cursed looking at Abhay as he looked more than messed up. One of his hands is broken as it's hanging around his neck from a white bandage. I can't see his face but he’s not walking straight but rather limping.

“What's wrong? Dumbo, you're giving me a heart attack. Tell me everything’s okay? Did that Abhay—” I cut off my friend midway.

“There's a whole damn movie waiting for me downstairs, I’ll give you updates once I watch the whole thing. Okay? Bye.” And I hung up without hearing her before rushing downstairs. I know Lyla must've been worried and she’ll not sleep until and unless I don't give her the whole tea but for that I need to know stuff and one can't miss the sight of Abhay.
