Loki's POV

"What are you doing up, love?" I asked. "You should be resting up. The children will tire you when the morningtide comes."

"I couldn't sleep," she replied, her voice nothing but a breathy whisper. "I have too much on my mind." She rubbed her swollen belly, a sight that, while only visible to me, was glorious to behold. "Two more months, love. Then things get complicated."

"Complicated?" I asked. What was she getting at?

"I won't be able to risk keeping them here. The Other will find them. We'll have to figure something else out." Her voice was ripe with worry. It pained me to see her like this.

"What would you like to name them?" I asked. "I like the name Brutus for the boy."

"Brutus?" she asked, furrowing a perfect brow. "That's a bit of horrible name for a boy, wouldn't you say?"

"Not really," I explained. "Brutus was the noblest Roman of them all. Out if all those who wanted to kill Caesar, he was the only one whose motives were not selfish. Selflessness is a trait I would want my son to inherit."

"Fine. Brutus is a good name for him. But what of the girl?" she asked.

"I do not know of a good name for her," I sighed. "Preferably one that shows she, like her mother is a fighter. She should not be afraid to stand up for what is right, even if it means death."

"And that is where the name question vexes me as well," Kathryn sighed, brushing back her long, blond hair.

"It'll come," I said, wrapping my arms around her from behind and enfolding my hands over our children. "My mother once told me that she didn't know what to name me at first. But when she saw me for the first time, she could think of only one word: ligg, which is Norwegian for 'lie.' Over time, it evolved into 'Loki.' My point being that even if you do not yet know what our daughter's name will be, you will know when you see her. My mother did."
