The elevator ride to the lobby was slightly awkward. Harry was staring at Mary with a smirk as usual. He looked her up and down repeatedly as she pretended not to notice. Finally she asked him what the hell he was looking at. “I just wasn’t expecting you too look so…like that” he responded. She would’ve taken it as an inappropriate comment if he hadn’t stopped smirking and blushed a little. She smiled, realizing he might not be as bad as she thought, before stopping herself for thinking something so crazy.

When the elevator doors opened she walked out first and Harry sped up a little ahead of her and hold the front door open. When she walked out he put his hand on her lower back lightly and she shivered before quickly blaming it on the cold.

She wasn’t completely surprised to see that the car they were taking was chauffeured limo but when she got inside and saw the lack of shag rugs and disco balls and drugs and alcohol she decided to let it slide. She heard Harry was an egotistical pop star but so far she hadn’t seen any evidence of it. She sat on the see along the wall across from the door and Harry sat on the one along the back. Their legs touched. Neither of them moved them. The driver seemed to already know where he was going although Harry didn’t say anything to him. Harry continue to look at her although the smirk was gone for now.

“Where exactly are you taking me?”

Harry smiled, showing a little bit of a dimple. “That’s a surprise.”

“Well how do I know you’re not bringing me to some kind of dark abandoned barn to kill me then?”

Harry grinned and laughed a little. “I guess you don’t.”

Mary smiled back. Harry stared.

“What are you staring at this time?”

“I’ve literally never seen you smile.”

“Well, we met like 2 days ago.”

“2 days is a long time to go without smiling.”

“You sound like a Dr. Seuss book.”

Harry chuckled. The car came to a stop then. “We’re here.”

Mary tried to look out and see where they were but it was too dark. Harry got out first and held open the door, taking her hand to help her out. When their hands met Mary’s arm tingled from finger to shoulder. She blamed it on the cold again.

As soon as they were out of the car the man drove away, leaving them seemingly in the middle of nowhere.

“Ummm…I feel as if this is some kind of prank.”

“It’s no prank. We just have to walk a little.”

Mary sighed, looking down at her heels. Harry noticed.

“I could carry you?” he winked.

Mary glared at him and started up the trail without waiting for him to show the way. She heard him laugh behind her.

The driver had left them on the side of the rode on a paved trail that led through a little park full of tall trees and flowers that were withering in the cold. The trail wound around until they came to a pond in the clearing of trees. Across the small pond was a little bridge and at the end of the bridge was a gazebo. The bridge and gazebo were covered in candles which made the whole scene look like it was covered in twinkling stars. Mary couldn’t make out what was inside the gazebo from here.

She turned around to look at Harry with wide eyes. “What is this place?”

“This is where I had my first date when I was twelve” he said, smiling a little. Mary grinned at him and walked over the bridge. It was made of wood and had vines twisted around the handles. She walked carefully as to not knock over any candles. Harry was right behind her. The gazebo was white and had arches and a big point at the top. Inside there were two benches across from each other and the other side held an exit leading to some more trail. On the floor were a blanket, a picnic basket and two portable heaters making the entire thing comfortably warm in the cold London winter.
