"all im saying is no one can come over every day after you spent a month together without it being at least a little gay"

Elijah put his head in his hands and curled his legs into his chest letting his heels hold them up by resting them on the edge of the couch.

"Aurora-" he groaned out feeling his head become heavy and slump somehow farther down.

"what?! did i say a single lie?" she squeaked and sat up more.

"shut. up." Elijah opened his hands to look at his friend.

"what?" she raised a brow and tossed the crust of the pizza she was eating.

Elijah stood up and stretched before looking down at her on the chair across from the couch.

"baby you gotta get your own life" Elijah mumbled and ran a hand through her blonde hair before picking up the pizza box and grabbing his coat. "'m gonna run the down stairs and throw this away."

"can you take the other trash while youre at it?" Aurora leaned over the couch and pouted at Elijah he gave a straight lined smile before nodding.

"yeah- yeah I can" he nodded and opened the closet they keep it in and take out the filled trash bag. "I'll be back" he shrugged on the jacket and grabbed the empty box and bag before opened the door with his foot.

"thank you Elij!" aurora sunk back into the couch as he moved into the hallway of the building.

Elijah never took the elevator, unless he was hurt or beyond tired. claimed that stairs were quicker. Everyone knew the real reason was he avoided the exact type of close contact awkward situations that elevators brought. so he took the stairs. after many flights of the winding steps he reached the bottom of this cursed apartment where the lobby, laundry, mail room and trash happened to be located. pushing out the doors into the cooler night air.

the air was always still around the city, its why he hated it all. he was made for the exact opposite of what this place had to offer. other then the money it offered. he often had to bite his lip to keep his complaints of this place in, like he did tonight while he pulled the trash over his shoulder and into the large bin of other various trash. throwing away the pizza box in the other bin before stuffing his hands into his jacket pocket.

looking around Elijah took a breath. "why did I chose this fucking job" he cursed himself while staring up at where the moon should be if it wasn't blocked by buildings. kicking a metal railing before finally turning back to face the door. "sorry" he sighed before walking back into the apartments he calls home.

walking into the lobby he bit harder into his lip while running his hands down through his hair. watching a few people pass through the main doors to the elevators. seeing a familiar brunette stepping outside of the elevator with empty hands.

"Colby?" he smiled softly and tilted his head.

"Eli!"Colby moved off his path and towards Elijah.

"you drop off something?" Elijah asked.

"yeah" Colby nodded with a grin.

"you gonna stick around one of these days?" Elijah asked and leaned a bit closer.

"maybe one day, if you're actually around." Colby rolled his eyes and shrugged.

"ugh, chances are slim then"

"I'll see you around Elijah" Colby nodded before nudging Eli.

"yeah-" Elijah waved him off as Colby went back onto the street.

son of a bitch.

"you know as someone who has, swapped spit might I add. you'd think he'd fucking talk to me for more then 5 minutes yeah?" Elijah fumed and slammed the front door closed.

"yeah I thought you would see him" Aurora giggled from the couch and kicked her legs up.

"god when I get my hands on that man-" he clenched his hands and paced around the living room.

"you're gonna what?" Aurora raised a brow and sat up just enough to look at him from over the couch. "you gonna kiss him or throw a bin at him?"

"well-" Elijah leaned on the kitchen counter that was near the couch. "I haven't gotten that far yet" Elijah slumped and hid his face in his hands.

"you're doing great buddy" she laid back down on her back with a smile.

Elijah gripped his hair like it would somehow make him lose all fascination with Colby. he can confirm it did in fact not work.

"ok" he breathed out and finally stood up to his full height. "im gonna go to bed." he walked around the couch to see a half awake friend.

"ok" they muttered out. peaking from under their arm that was hung over their forehead shining with sweat.

"you going to meetings?" Elijah asked and poked their arm.

Aurora nodded.

"thats my girl" Elijah pressed a kiss to her arm before letting go.

"I'll see you in the morning Aur" Elijah flicked off the lights and fled into his dark room.

quickly stripping from all clothes and changing into sweatpants and a band shirt. Elijah climbed into bed. his eyes pealed open as he simply stared at the wall. he was the number one guy out there for pretending to sleep and getting people not to care.
