CHAPTER 4

It was one week after the ceremony, and Mina didn't want to be late again. So, she woke up earlier than before. Fortunately, her family was out on vacation so she can be free to do anything. She doesn't mind that they leave her alone without a guardian. After all, it's more peaceful this way.

After having breakfast, she went to school like usual. Meeting with her friends, chatting about something they could share, and focusing on the teachers' lectures later on. It's a little bit easy to do it every day (of course, the exam and homework parts were the tough ones for her dictionary). Yet, Mina finds all of this boring now.

That's why, she decided to change her routine.

At recess, the blonde-haired girl approached the girl who sits in front of her best friend. She had been curious about her since the ceremony. Her hair was a combination of ginger and blonde, her eyes were yellow with a shape like hers, and her skin was perfectly smooth like a pearl. It was like she was a mix of Momiji and her.

I hope... We can be friends...

She braced herself to speak, "Hi. My name is Xi Mina, you're Uzumaki Kareina, right?"

"Yes," the owner of yellow eyes replied, "how did you know?"

"Ahaha... It was on student lists."

Both of the yellow eyes blinked.

"I was curious about you, so when the teacher called your name, I took a note," Mina massaged her nape awkwardly. "By the way, where did you find the ribbon? It's so stylish, and I want to buy it somewhere."

Kareina smiled shyly while rubbing the ribbon on her neck, "Thank you for your compliment. I got it from my friend, who lives so far away now. She will be delighted to hear that from you."

The blonde-haired girl was mesmerized by her beauty. It was a nostalgic feeling, yet she couldn't remember the girl in front of her.

Before she could think any further, her friends called her to get lunch together.

"I'm so sorry, I need to go now. It's nice to talk with you," she said with a dejected smile.

"It's okay," the yellow-eyed girl chuckled, "if you want... We can talk again later."

"Really?"

"Yes, it seems fun to spend time with you, Xi-san," Kareina said while nodding.

"You're not annoyed by my talking?" the other girl said, her eyes widening.

"No, not at all. I think it's lovely," Kareina said, smiling brighter at her, "I want to talk more with you, Xi-san."

Hearing that made her heart warm inside. People often say she was annoying in front of and behind her, but this girl just proves that they were wrong the first time. Mina could tell, this girl wasn't lying at all. She wasn't the same as the people who always told her lies, from her eyes to her lips. Her urge to befriend her is stronger than ever now.

With confident, she's holding her hands and asked.

"Uzumaki-san,would you be my friend?!"
