After she tidied her lunch, the blonde girl walked to her classmates. Her heart was beating fast as she got closer and closer to the couple. When she stopped beside them, Kareina gently smiled at her.
"Hello, Mina."
"Hi, Reina." she asked her while pointing to the seat across from them. "Is this seat taken?"
"No, not at all. Please take a seat if you want to," the girl with the yellow ribbon on her neck welcomed her with her hand.
"Thank you," Mina couldn't stop fidgeting while sitting in her place.
Thank goodness, they didn't ask why I was sitting with them.
Her blue eyes silently observed. Akazaki Akito, the red-haired boy, seemed to focus his hand on repairing something on the table.
Is that... A bracelet? The colours are like a bee, and he wore the same bracelet on his wrist, too. Is that his?
"Umm... Akazaki-san, what are you doing?" she inquired.
There was no response from the bronze eyes. Guessing her voice was too quiet, Mina tried to ask again with a louder voice.
"Excuse me, can you tell me what you are doing right now?"
Akito's hands still didn't stop moving. Defeated by his ignoring her, Mina put her head on the table. Suddenly, a voice of beautiful melody spoke up.
"I apologize for his behaviour, Mina."
"Reina..."
"Even though he didn't intend to be rude, he really couldn't hear you right now. Why don't you chat with me to erase your boredom?"
"Then," Mina gestured for Kareina to lean forward.
After her new friend complied with her plea, she whispered in her ear.
"What is he doing?"
The yellow-eyed girl smiled then closing their distance.
"He is just checking my bracelet. Nothing much, nothing less," the ginger-blonde girl whispered.
Mina's eyes widened, "Is that yours?"
"Yeah, it was a little bit malfunctioning. I had no idea what to do with it," Kareina innocently smiled, "thank goodness Aki offered to fix it for me."
"Aki? Is he your boyfriend, Reina?"
Hearing that, her smile turned into giggles.
"Where did you hear that?"
"My friends told me that there's a rumour about you two," Mina blushed awkwardly, "is it true?"
"I apologize for shattering your belief in that rumour, Mina. But," the yellow eyes looked at the boy beside her adoringly, "he's my best friend."
"Oh, I see. "I'm sorry for assuming things on myself," Mina said, sincerely bowing.
"It's alright, you did nothing wrong."
After a while, Mina took a glance at her friends, who were still eating. She wanted to go back, but her heart felt guilty for leaving her new friend without company.
She asked, "Do you mind if I invite you to chat with my friends?"
"I..." Kareina's eyes subtly peered to her side, then she answered hesitantly, "I'm sorry. I have to refuse yours right now as my bracelet isn't done yet."
"It's okay," Mina said, waving her hands, "I see your bracelet is important to you."
"Thank you for inviting me, though. Maybe next time... I will accept it."
"Alright, see you later."
"See you later too."
