"Kat, wake up." I swat my had at him, really not wanting to wake up so early. "You really should see what's outside, I have something cool to show you." I open one eye and see him dressed and shaking my arm. I look out the tent to see the sun not even over the horizon.
"Chris, the sun's not even up yet, why do I have to be up." I reach for the covers, only to have him pull them off me. "Chris, it's too early for this. Shouldn't you be asleep, you were up really late last night."
"But I really want you to see this. Plus, the fish bite better early in the morning, better to get breakfast now then not at all. This might be a once in a lifetime moment." I open both my eyes this time to look up at him. He smiles and I can't refuse.
I sigh a frustrated sigh and push myself off the makeshift bed. "This better be worth it, other ise I'm going back to sleep." He takes my hand as pulls me out of the tent, only to have me look up at the prettiest sky I've ever seen. There were stars covering every inch of the sky, with a thick band stretching across the whole sky. I feel his hand slip from mine as I stop and look up in amazement at the sight.
"I told you." I hear him whisper, taking my hand again and pulling me to the dock. "This is a view that you can only see away from the city." He takes my hand and wraps it around my waist, moving to where he's standing behind me. He starts swaying back and forth, looking up along with me. "You see the 3 bright stars in a row? That's Orion's Belt. If you look up a little, you can see the shoulders, and down you can see the feet. To the right is his shield and to the left is his sword. The three lighter ones under the belt, that's his sheath." He points his finger to the sky, drawing out the constellation. "My uncle showed this to me the first camping trip I went on, now every time I look up at the stars, it's the first thing I see."
I smile, following the imaginary lines from his finger. I lean back against him and close my eyes, listening to the sound of the trees and his light breathing. This was the moment I was excited about on this trip, I wanted to have this kind of a moment with him.
"Can you teach me to dance please." He asks out of the blue. I open my eyes and lay my head on the other side of him.
"But we don't have any music, let alone much light to see what we're doing. Plus, don't we have to go fishing for breakfast soon?" I fell him chuckle against my back, making me smile even more. Its been a long time since I've smiled this much.
"We don't need music or light, and the food can wait. Even if our dancing only consists of swaying back and forth, we would finally have that little moment." I did promise him all those months ago to teach him a little about dancing.
"Fine, but you have to do exactly what I say." He nods his head vigorously. I push myself off of him and turn to face him. "First off, you have to have your hands in the right places. Your right hand goes here," I move him hand down to my waist, placing it right above my hip. I can see him give me a little smirk as I continue. "And your left goes in my right like so." I put our hands up and wrap my hand around his. I put my left hand on his shoulder as I look up at him. "Now take a step closer to me."
"Like this." He takes a step forward to where his body was pressed firmly against mine. I blush a little and passed him over his shoulder. He needs to stop making me feel this way around him.
"Yeah, like that. Now, since you're the male, you lead. So on one, your right foot is going to come forward, while my left goes backwards. On two, you're going to bring your left foot to meet your right, my right following. On three, you just move your body up a little. The counts start over again and you just switch legs." He nods his head. "Okay, one," We move. "Two," We move again, him doing better then some people I've danced with. "Three." He leans down and gives me a small kiss of the cheek. I smile and start the count over again.
After a while of the slow counts, I start to speed them up to a steady pace. Not once did he step on my foot. We just danced in a little circle, really not following much of a pattern. By the time we were done, Chris did something didn't think he could do. He pulls his hand off my waist and starts so spin me around. I let out a laugh as he does this, wrapping my hands around his neck once I come back to face him.
"Best camping trip ever." He whispers down to me, leaning in closer to my face. "I love you." He closes the space in between us and connects our lips.
(Yeah, late, I know, but here's the little part where Kat teaches Chris to dance, like she promised.
So My two step brothers were getting ready to go play airsoft outside and they needed another person to play. They asked me, I said yes, and won. :)
Never underestimate a girl shooter.
A rating would be much appreciated
