Chapter Six.
The Shadow Man.
The dream had really upset me, but I had no choice, but to face John. I took a shower and had gotten dressed. Was that dream like a reality, that had not happened yet? I splash water in my face, trying to relax my nerves. I decided to walk into the small town, dodging John. I didn't see him awake just yet, so I decided to leave while I can. In the back of my mind, I knew I had to face him sooner or later. I didn't know what time it was, I just knew it was early, around 9, I thought.
This small town, truely was beutiful. All I had on me was my money and my phone. That's all I needed for now. I walked through the town square, people doing their daily routine. I wondered if anyone has the crazy dreams, like I, or who sees things that are not there...? I went to where the garage was located. The gray building with the letters, and neon sign. From what I remembered last night. But it wasn't there. I scratched my head. Where had it gone? That didn't make sense. It had to be located somewhere near the town square.
Self doubt had started to enter my mind. I didn't know what to do.
I started walking around , trying to find out what the H, was going on. .
I needed to find somebody. I started walking around, as thunder and lightning struck! I jumped startled. A mist started rolling up through this town. It started to become thick.
Foggy, i started walking around practically blind. I came across a couple buildings, but they looked abandoned.
I didn't understand. This is just so confusing. .
Like a daze, I felt as if I was walking through a maze.
What if I was crazy? And theirs nothing to do about me, other than to lock me up.
I started running around. I need to find something... Some one who knew this small town like the back of their hand. But it seemed like I was going in circles.
A black-shadowy-figure appeared in my peripheral vision.
I blinked. I looked around and it looked like I was in a store of some sort. The dim lighting and the flickering of some freezer lights.
As I turned to face the figurine. It had disappeared from my eye sight. "What the hell!!!"
My head was pounding. My eye sight blurred. Everything seemed to change around me. The environment, the atmosphere, the... Feeling.
Chills went down my spine, as I once again came to face the Shadow. The shadow, with yellow.. Spirals as eyes.
I didn't know who "it" was, or what. He must of been 7-8 Feet tall.
He lifted his hand. The hand was huge, it was scaly, pale white, and you could see the dark veins under his skin. On the palm of his hand, a dark crescent, stitched into his skin. My eyes widened, I knew that from somewhere. His nails, were like claws, black and thick. I inhaled sharply.
He lifted his hand to my face. As he caressed my cheek. I let out a unsteady exhale. Fear was surely in my eyes, but how could I deny that?
He breathed heavily. His hot, steamy breath on my face. I let out a soft whimper, as his eyes came down to my eye level. My heart was pounding so hard, it must of sounded like a full scale drum solo.
He tilted his head, towering over me. A deep guttural voice, that sent chills everywhere. "Alex,.. Do you., know.. What happened.. On September, 13th, 1998...?" I was focusing on breathing, I would be three years old. Slowly I shook my head, no. I stuttered, as I answered him. "I..-I woul-d be.. Three years.. O-o-ld.." I said.
He laughed. "Good girl." "Do you know this.. Symbol?" The palm of his hand out stretched. A dark crescent.
"It seems,.. Familiar." I said shakily. Flashes of my past seemed to blur around in my head, but something was blocking it.. My breath was unsteady! I started gasping for air, but the air seemed to thin for me to breath.
All I heard was the mans maniacal, evil, laughter.
To be continued.
