                                                                           Chapter Three

The door continued to rattle. I stared at it. I opened the door slowly. My mom came rushing in with groceries. "Oh, your back." She said and put the groceries on the counter. "Back from what?" I asked confused. "You went out didn't you?" Yes. Yes I did. But I didn't actually go anywhere. Just went around the damn apartment in circles. I wanted to say that. But why? She wouldn't tell me anything. I went over to the couch and sat down and closed my eyes resting them. When I opened them my mom screamed. I jumped up. Her back was against the wall. Her body spread against the wall, making her look very uncomfortable. She had fear in her eyes. The apartment room changed. It became dingy and grey. Barbed wire started forming around her wrists, and ankles. "Mom?" I stared in shock. She murmered, looking around. "Whats happening!?" I asked. The barbed wire cut into her clothes, pulling her closer to the wall. Blood started forming. Running down her wrists, and ankles.

I was trying to help her. To get her off the wall.. To stop the bleeding.. But I couldn't move. Their was an unknown force making me stay in place. Like a wall, or something or someone holding my feet down. I could see her eyes glistening. A couple tears fell from my face. A tear fell from her, rolling down her cheek. Blood was dripping from her, onto the wall, her blood dripping down the wall. Then making puddles of droplets of blood onto the floor. "Leave her ALONE!!" I screamed! Tears started rolling down my face, and my head started to hurt. A sinister chuckled echoed through the apartment as if it was bounced off the walls, over and over again.

"Everything.. Will.. Be.. Alright Al-ex.." My mother said as she choked on her own blood. Her head fell down, as if she couldn't keep it up. "Mom!?" I yelled. The barbed wire retracted into the wall, as her body fell into her blood. Her blue blose soaked in her blood. Her wrists slashed, a rigid pattern. Her jeans slashed from where her ankles were bleeding. The invisble force that was holding me, let go. I ran to my mom. I picked her up into my arms. "Mom..Mommy... Wake up.. Please.. This can't be happening." I started CPR on her. "Come on.. You're.. Fine.. Wake up..Wake, up!" I Pulled her into my lap and brushed a strand of her hair out of her eyes. Her eyes had gone to a grey, instead of blue. Her life was gone. But i refused to believe that.  I put two of my fingers on her neck, feeling for a pulse. "Please.. Please.. don't leave me alone!!" She was dead.

The tears wouldn't stop. I brushed my hand over her eyes, closing them. I got up and was covered in my own mothers blood. Why was this happening to me? What did I do to deserve this.. She's dead.. And I have no idea what or who made this contract.. Why was this messing with me? With my head.. My SANITY!?!

I went into my bathroom, to wash the blood off. I started the water. Closing my eyes I splashed water on my face. It was refreshing. I opened my eyes, and my reflection, wasn't my reflection. It stared at me, bobbing it's head to the side, it's eyes were mine, but they were hardened. It had a smirk on it's face. Startled i backed up and turned around to leave. But curiousity got the best of me so i looked back, the reflection of me, was gone. But now my real reflection was back. I hoped. I looked down at the running water. It started running to a rust color, to a bright liquidly red. Blood?! i gasped and turned the knob. I needed to get out of here.

I went into my room, grabbing clothes, phone, keys, I.D. I dialed 911. "Hello, this is 911, what is your emergency?" A lady said. "My mom's dead. Apartment Complex A, room 201." I left the phone hand from it's socket. I grabbed my stuff and as i was about to leave, i looked over to my mom. "I'm sorry, I couldn't save you." I said as i left.
