Maxim Collin and Darnell Sherwood, after ensuring Maxim's uncle was safely on his way to the hospital, plunged back into the dense forest. Their senses were heightened, every rustle and shadow scrutinized. As they advanced, a lone figure emerged, moving with an unsettling calmness.
Maxim signaled for Darnell to flank the stranger. With practiced stealth, they approached, weapons drawn. Maxim stepped forward, his voice firm, "Hold it right there. Hands where I can see them."
The man froze, eyes darting between the two detectives.
"You're one of Maxwell's men," Maxim continued. "Where is he hiding?"
The man's defiance wavered under their unyielding gaze. "He's... he's in a warehouse nearby," he stammered. "Not far from here. It's heavily guarded."
Darnell stepped closer, securing the man's wrists with handcuffs. "Show us," he demanded.
The informant nodded reluctantly, leading them through a maze of trees until the outline of a warehouse loomed ahead. Maxim and Darnell exchanged a determined glance, ready to confront the orchestrator of the chaos that had upended their lives.
With their target in sight, they radioed for backup, ensuring all exits were covered. The time had come to bring Maxwell to justice.
Avon Tomplin sat in the hospital room, wincing as a nurse applied a fresh bandage to her wounded shoulder. The sterile scent of antiseptics filled the air, mingling with the distant hum of medical equipment. As she adjusted her position, trying to find some comfort despite the pain, the door creaked open.
Robert entered, his face etched with concern. "Avon, are you alright?" he asked, his voice a mix of worry and urgency. "Where's Caroline?"
Avon took a deep breath, steadying herself. "I'm managing, Robert. But there's troubling news. Caroline has been kidnapped. Ram was shot during the incident. Maxwell is behind all of this; he's after the company."
Robert's expression hardened, anger flashing in his eyes. "Maxwell? I suspected his ambition, but this... He must face justice for his actions. He has no place in our company."
Determination evident in his stance, Robert continued, "I'm heading over there now. We need to ensure everyone's safety and put an end to Maxwell's schemes."
As Robert turned to leave, Avon called after him, "Be careful, Robert. Maxwell has already shown he's willing to go to dangerous lengths."
He nodded, a resolute look on his face. "Don't worry, Avon. We'll bring him to justice."
With that, Robert left the room, his mind racing with plans to confront Maxwell and protect his family.
As Johnny Lee, Dom Kennedy, and Adam Rayle waited outside the restricted area, their frustration grew. The police had denied them entry, citing strict protocols. A sleek car approached, and from it emerged Ashton Kutcher and Luna McKelly.
Luna approached Johnny, who immediately voiced his concern. "Luna, the police won't let us through. We're stuck here."
"I understand," Luna replied calmly. "Only authorized personnel are permitted beyond this point. But don't worry, I'll handle it."
Adam interjected, "Wait, Luna. Maxim insisted you shouldn't go in alone."
With a reassuring smile, Luna said, "I'm a police officer; this is my duty."
Ashton stepped forward, determination in his eyes. "Then I'm coming with you."
Luna shook her head gently. "There's no need, Ashton. I can manage."
