We were all sitting on the couch laughing when Stefiny started yawning. “Ok munchkin time for bed.” Ross said getting up off the couch to bring Stef upstairs. “Aww daddy do i have to?” Stefiny pleaded. “Yes it’s 8 o’clock. Now upstairs.” Then Stefiny got up and gave me a hug. Then her and Ross went up to her room. I got up off the couch and started to put my coat on. “Where do you think you’re going.” Ross said walking down the stairs. I smiled and laughed. “Home.” I said softly because my throat hurt from laughing so much. Ross walked up to me and snaked his arms around my waist. “Aww do you have to?” He asked me in the same voice Stefiny had asked him in. I laughed and kissed his cheek. “Goodnight Ross.” I said and took his arms off my waist. “Goodnight.” He said softly. I opened the door and left.
When i got back to my apartment i opened the door and saw a few of Caitlyn’s friends sleeping on the couch and floor. I sighed and stormed into my bedroom. “Get up.” I said throwing a pillow at her. “What-” She said freaked out because of her rude awakening. “Caitlyn i gave you that key for emergency’s. Not so you and your drunk friends can crash here.” I told her as she got out of my bed and started to put her shoes on. “Well what do you want my to do none of us can drive.” She said standing up and then almost falling over. “Dude it’s only 9. How the hell are you so wasted?” I asked her helping her back up. “We started drinking at 6.” She told me as she took an aspirin i gave her. I sighed. “Call mom.” I told her then handed her my phone. “And get your friends out of here.” I told her then walked into the bathroom to take a shower.
I got out of the shower and there was no one in my house. There was a note on the counter with my phone. It said that Kyle had picked them up. I feel bad for him. I went into my room and put on pj’s. Then i got into bed and watched netflix. My phone buzzed signaling that a had a text. From Ross asking me what i was doing tomorrow. I sent back that i was working. And he sent me a sad face and said be at the house by 6. I laughed and sent him back ok. I plugged in my phone and turned off the light. I eventually slipped into my dreams.
Ross’ P.O.V.
I was sitting on the couch trying to find something to do when i noticed an old photo album. I took it off the shelf and flipped through the pages. There were pictures of my and Keira from back when we were 17. There were also wedding pictures. Then i came to a picture of Me, Keira, and Stefiny from her first christmas. I sighed and put the book back on the shelf. Then my phone buzzed. I had a text from Rydel. It said: So what are you doing for Stefiny’s Birthday Wednesday. Stefiny’s birthday was Wednesday. She’s turning 7 but i don’t think anyone knows that me and Laura are officially over. Not that we ever started. I sent i text back to Rydel saying: I’ll think of something and if i can’t i’ll call you. Then i got up and went around the house locking the doors and windows and turning off all the lights. I noticed pictures of Laura and me and Laura, Stefiny, and me. So i took them all down and put them in a cabinet.
When i got upstairs i cracked open Stef’s door to check if she was sleeping. She was like always. I closed her door again and walked down the hall to my room. I stripped the bed and put clean sheets on it. Then i put on pj’s and crawled into bed.
I woke up at 2 when i heard Stefiny screaming for me. I hopped up and ran into her room. “What’s wrong?” I asked her as I went over to her bed. “I had a bad dream.” She said wiping away tears. “It’s ok.” I told her petting her hair. “Ok.” She said and went back to bed. I got up and went back to my room. When i walked in the door i saw Laura sitting on the bed. “What the hell?” I said as she got up. “Look.” She said. She was obviously drunk because when she stood up she teeter tottered. I moved forward and stabilized her. “Take it easy.” I said. “Don’t touch me.” She snapped and slapped my hand away. I threw my hands up in defence. “Listen i think you need to-” I started but she cut me off. “No you listen.” She started. “I am NOT the kind of person you can just leave.” She said poking my chest. “Laura-” “Don’t Laura me.” She said crossing her arms. I sighed. “I love you and i know you love me too.” She said trying to be sweet and tracing my abs. I grabbed her hands. “Laura you need to leave. Whatever you think we have your wrong because i don’t love you. If anything i was glad to see you leave earlier.” I said. “Find be you’re making a big mistake.” She said a brushed past me. “Laura.” I said and she immediately came back. “Yeah?” She asked hopefully. “House key.” I said and held my hand out. She huffed and threw her key at me. “Thank you.” I said as she stormed out of the house. “Jesus.” I said as a crawled back into bed.
Keira’s P.O.V.
After work i drove over to the house. When i pulled into the driveway right when i parked the car i was ambushed by Stef. “Hi.” I said laughing. “Hiiii.” She said hugging my legs. Then she pulled me into the house. Ross was sitting on the couch watching tv. “Daddy can we go out for dinner?” Stefiny asked him. Ross looked up at me. “I don’t care.” I said sitting down next to him. “Ok. Sure lets go.” He said getting up. So we all got up and left for dinner.
We all walked in the door laughing. Ross was giving Stef a piggyback ride. Ross set her down on the couch and looked at his watch. “Guess what time it is?” He said to Stefiny. She sighed and out arms out for Ross to carry her again. He picked her up and threw her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. She burst out in giggles as he carried her up the stairs. When he came back down he sat on the couch and motioned for me to come sit next to him. So i went over and plopped on the couch and he put his arm around me. “So Stefinys birthday is tomorrow.” He said looking at me. “Yeah i know. What are you going to do for it.” I asked he turning around so i was sitting criss cross and facing him. “Well i don’t really know. Will you help me?” He asked me with pleading eyes. “Sure.” I said chuckling a little.
We stayed up all night trying to figure things out. When we were done it was 3 am. I yawned. “Well i better go.” I said getting up and stretching. “Or you could just stay here.” Ross said getting up and walking closer to me. “That’d be nice. I’ll just sleep on the couch.” I said as he snaked his strong arms around me once again. “Oh, you don’t really want sleep on this old crapy couch do you?” He started. “Now i say you should just come upstairs and sleep with me. It’d be warmer, more comfortable, and safer.” He said. “Well i don’t know.” I said looking back at the door. “Please i’ll make it worth your while.” He said in a sexy voice. “Fine i’ll sleep upstairs with you but no funny business.” I said pointing at him. He made a sad face but still agreed. So we went upstairs.
The room looked the same as it always had. But Laura’s stuff was everywhere. I walked over to the bed and was about to climb in when Ross threw a pair on his pajama pants and one of his shirts at me. “Thanks.” I said putting them on. Then we both got into bed. I was laying on my side and i felt Ross put his arm around me. Then i fell asleep.
Ross’ P.O.V.
I woke up next to Keira. God i missed seeing her when i wake up. I got up to wake up Stefiny for school. I walked into her room and sat on her bed. “Morning birthday girl.” I said to her shaking her a little. She sat up and rubbed her eyes. “Morning daddy.” She said yawning. “Can mommy help me pick out my outfit?” She asked me getting out of bed. “Ummm... Hang on.” I said and ran into my room. “Keira. Stefiny wants you to help her pick out her birthday outfit.” I said running into the room. When i looked up i saw that she was standing there in just her pants and bra. I cat whistled. She laughed and put her shirt on. Then she went into Stef’s room. I went downstairs and made pancakes.
“Now introducing the birthday girl!” Keira shouted as she walked down the stairs holding Stef’s hand. I smiled and cheered. Stefiny was wearing a pink shirt and a pink tutu with black leggings. She ran over to me and i picked her up. “You look beautiful.” I said to her. She said thank you and hopped down. “Mommy take me to the bus please?” She said the Keira. So Keira took her outside and put her on the bus.
5 hours later
I was on my way to pick up Stefiny from school when i got a call from Keira.
M:Hello K:Ross we have a problem...
