Firehouse 51

Chapter 1

It was about two minutes after the building exploded that everyone started to come back in the swing of things. Every one managed to get out safely except for two people, Leslie Shay and Peter Mills. Herrmann was the one who found Mills lying on the ground lifeless and unconscious. He quickly called out to the other guys and with the help of Cruz, Otis, and Mouch carried Mills out into the ambulance that cheif had called shortly after the explosion had happened. Meanwhile, Severide and Casey were on their way to find Dawson and Shay who weren't responding back. They found Dawson trying to remove the rubble off of Shay's stomach, both guys immediately rushed to help. Once they had safely removed the rubble off of her they carried her out into the second ambulance. Shay had a pulse but it was weak and they didn't know if she would quite make it due to the loss of blood. Severide rode in the back with Shay until they arrived at Lakeshore. The doctors rushed shay into a trauma room, not to far from Mills, telling Severide he was no longer allowed to go back any farther. Shay and Severide being the best friends that they were, Severide automatically broke down crying not knowing if he was ever gonna get his best friend back. Not long after Shay had been brought back into the trauma room, the rest of the firehouse came and waited to hear any news on Mills and Shay. After about an hour or two of waiting a doctor came out with a worried look on his face.

"Family of Leslie Shay and Peter Mills?" Everyone from the firehouse including mills mom and sister stood up

"I am so sorry to tell you that Peter Mills passed away in surgery and Leslie Shay is unfortunately in a medical induced coma and we don't know when or if she will wake up. I'll let you guys have a moment. Again, I am so sorry."

None of them could believe what they had just been told. Their dear friend, brother, son, family member, Peter Mills had passed away all because of a stupid explosion. Leslie Shay, who everyone adored and loved and loved to be around, was now in a coma and no one knew, not even the doctors, if she would ever or when she would wake up. Everyone from firehouse 51 was now in tears. They already lost their dear friend Andy Darden a couple years back and now Peter Mills and possible Leslie Shay. This day couldn't get any worse for them.

Severides POV
Although I was sad and mad about Mills being gone, I was kind of relieved Shay was still with us, barely but she was. Not only was she my roommate, she was my best friend. The sister I never had, the girl I couldnt imagine my life without, the person who knew me better than anyone else who's ever known me. Sure she's a lesbian, but I was in love with her. Her personality was perfect, hell everything about her was perfect. I don't know what I would do if I ever lost her. Shay and I have been talking about having a baby together. Shay really wants one and she asked me if I would be willing to have one with her, through a facility of course. We went through the whole process and were waiting up until a week ago when we found out that it didn't take. Shay was devastated so I knew I had to make it up with her. I talked to her about going with our plan b, the natural way. She agreed to it and one night we did it and I have to say it made me love her even more, but she was still a lesbian. She told me that we were going to do this until she was pregnant and that we would still talk to each other the same way as if nothing happened. Thats the thing i loved about shay the most, even in awkward situations like that she was still her normal self and didnt make it any more awkward than it had to be. I want to have a family with shay more than anything so I really hope she pulls through like I know she can. I guess all I can do for now is hope and pray that my best friend pulls out of this...let's just hope it works.
