Hm.. I went home after the party, Xavier had returned to the party just before it finished, well, where was he and what was he doing? I started thinking about these questions, then quickly shook my head, I tried not to think about it. I was going to change my clothes, when my door opened and without a knock.
"Hey! Xavier? K-knock on the door before coming in!"
"It's my house, I can enter the room whenever I like"
"That may be true, but... So, what do you want?" Roughly shutting the door, Xavier grumpily sat down on the bed. "Did I do something wrong at the party?"
"No, I was told that you were friendly and a good wife"
"Really? That's good.."
"Not good" My body shook at the anger in his voice, I barely managed to avoid falling as he yanked my arm.
"Hey!" I felt his grip on my arm tighten. "Xavier.."
"Whose wife are you?"
"What? I'm your wife.."
"Yes you are.. So don't turn your amorous eyes on other men" I was surprised to hear Xavier say that.
"Amorous eyes?! I was just talking to people.."
"I'm telling you, don't be so indiscreet"
"O-okay..."
"Your priority is to always be thinking about me"
"You say that, but what about you? Where did you go?"
"That's none of your business" That's not.. Fair.. These words remained caught in my throat, unvoiced.
My eyes filled with tears at his outrageousness, but I fought them back, I knew Xavier was angry with me, but didn't know the reason, was it because I was so friendly to everyone? That would mean, Xavier was jealous over me?
"It seems that you are not such a good actress, if you behave like that, everyone will start thinking of our marriage as a farce"
"I'll do my best.."
"If you aren't a good actor, then make it so you don't need to act"
"What?"
"Honestly take a liking to me! When I'm with other girls, get jealous" Have true feelings for him?.
"You said this is not love but business, didn't you?"
"That's right but nobody should be able to notice that we have a contract marriage, so having feelings for me would also fall under our agreement"
"Well.." I wanted to trust him as I watched him say that without batting an eye, I wouldn't have imagined developing true feelings for him would also be part of our contract.
"Then, you are going to take a liking to me, too?"

"It's not just about you, I will never love anybody" I felt his grip tighten for a moment as he held me, glancing up at his face, I saw he was looking at me, with those sad and lonely eyes.
"Understand? If so, you should say yes"
"Yes.. I will do my best" Hearing my response, Xavier stepped away from me, tears began rolling down my cheeks.
