Xavier removed the restraints on my hands and picked me up.

"Thank you for coming"

"You made me lift heaven and earth to find you"

"I'm sorry..."

"You have to be more careful.. Especially as MY wife" Even though he was angry, he didn't scare me, I was... Relieved, teardrops started falling down my eyes.

"Wait! Xavier!" I heard her high-pitched voice behind us.

"Xavier.. She's calling you"

"Ignore her" The damsel in distress had been saved and we headed out the door.

That's when I saw a light so bright and then I heard it.. The screeching of a vehicle's breaks, the sound of the brake screeching sent chills down my spine. Was this another trap set by Allison..

"Xavier!" Because of the lighting, I couldn't see the person getting out of the car.

"Dan!"

"Huh?" It was Dan... In the car, he ran over to us with a look of relief.

"Are you okay Emily? They hurt you.."

"It's just a scratch"

"We'll treat those wounds as soon.. Don't worry... I'll drive you home"

"Yeah, step on it, you don't have to worry about anything now Emily"

"T-thank you.." I could barely musk the strength for those wounds before I felt the world become one big blur.

Most likely the adrenaline in my body had ran out, I now felt pain all over my body and my vision was becoming hazy.

"Emily?"

"Xavier..."

"Emily!" Before fainting, I saw Xavier's anxious face.

"Hmm?"

"Emily!" I woke up to find myself in that room which I was growing fond of with each passing moment, Xavier was by my side.

"Are you in pain?"

"I'm fine..."

"You look much better" He said that while putting his hand on my forehead, I felt soothed being touched by his large hand, warm hand.

I tried to get up, but the pain kept me down.

"Don't hurt yourself now" Xavier gently helped me to get back up.

"Heheh..."

"Something funny?"

"It's just funny how you're being so nice" His brow furrowed in mild irritation, but then he stroked my hair in wide swipes.

"I'm sorry"

"Huh?"

"I put you in this situation.."

"I'm fine.. This is what your wife should do.. This should be in our contract, right?" I understood my place, everything was in the contract, even what happened to me now, was in the contract..

How Xavier came to help me and treat my wound.. It was all terms he had agreed too..

"This must have hurt.." Xavier stroked the wound on my cheek.

"Yes.."

"But you didn't cry"

"I thought I'd look weak, if I cried"

"Weak?"

"I didn't want to look weak to those jerks, it sounds childish, I know"

"No.. You really are something" He took me in his arms. "You can cry now"

But the pain was overridden by the warmth of Xavier's body, soon, I was reduced to tears.

"O..Kay.." I sniffled, Xavier gently stroked my back as I sobbed.

"I told you to do everything I ask of you"

"Y-yes.."

"But actually, you... Did more than I asked, I appreciate it"

"That's good, maybe I ought to ask to increase my contract pay" I joked playfully, I met Xavier's gaze, but his eyes looked terribly distant and sad.

"Then, you did this all for the contract?"

"You told me to do so.."

"I guess it's just me, huh.."

"What?"

"While you were missing, I forgot about the contract.." What does he mean? I wanted clarification, but I couldn't ask for it.

He kissed me passionately.. And he pushed me down on the bed.

"It must hurt, huh.." Xavier asked about it again, I shake my head slightly "I'm not letting you go again, not today"

Strongly but gently, he hugged me, I quietly shed tears in his arms, waking up in the morning, I found Xavier's sleeping face before my eyes. That's right.. Yesterday, I... Illuminated in the morning light, I suddenly became embarrassed.

"Mmph..." Xavier yawned loudly and hugged me as if it was the most natural thing in the world. " You're an early-waker"

"N-not really.."

"Why are you looking away from me?"

"W-well.." Stumbling for words, Xavier forced me to look at him.

"Are you embarrassed?"

"Don't be so sure"

"Then why?"

"I don't know how I should look at you"

"I don't care how you look at me, you are you"
