Omniscient pov
Nicki didn't mean for Sasha to find out like this.
She had planned to tell her eventually—preferably in a setting where Sasha wasn't already pissed off.
But life had other plans.
It happened in the middle of a random conversation.
Nicki had been on the phone with Yoncé, laughing about something dumb, when Sasha walked into the room.
"Who you on the phone with?" Sasha asked, grabbing a bottle of water.
"Yoyo," Nicki answered casually.
Sasha nodded, taking a sip. "Tell her I said stop eating all my d*mn snacks."
Nicki snickered. "You hear that, Yoyo?"
Yoncé's laugh crackled through the speaker. "Tell her I'll stop when she stops dressing like she finna go conduct a mob hit at all times of the day."
Nicki was about to respond—until she felt a sharp pain in her stomach.
She winced, hand instinctively going to her belly.
Sasha noticed.
"What's wrong?"
Nicki quickly shook her head. "It's nothing."
Sasha's eyes narrowed. "You don't wince over nothing."
Nicki tried to brush it off. "It's just—" She stopped herself. "—It's nothing."
Sasha's jaw clenched. "Nicki."
Nicki sighed. "I'm fine, d*mn."
Sasha studied her for a long moment.
Then her eyes dropped—to Nicki's stomach.
And suddenly, something shifted in her expression.
She wasn't stupid.
"...No."
Nicki froze. "Sasha—"
"No." Sasha's voice was sharp. Almost desperate.
Nicki opened her mouth, but before she could even get a word out, Sasha snapped.
"Are you serious, Nicki?!" Her voice boomed through the house, her fists clenched at her sides.
Nicki stiffened. "Sasha, calm down—"
"Calm down?!" Sasha's laugh was dangerous. "You went behind my back?! You knew I said no, and you—"
Her words cut off as she grabbed a nearby lamp and launched it across the room.
It shattered against the wall.
Nicki flinched. "Sasha, stop!"
But it was too late.
Sasha was gone.
She grabbed a chair and flipped it over. Knocked a vase off the table. She was breathing heavily, her face twisted with rage.
Nicki had seen her mad before—but this?
This was different.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Giselle, Yoncé, and Bumble Bee huddled together in the hallway, watching with wide, fearful eyes.
And that's when it hit her.
They weren't just scared of the fight.
They were scared of Sasha.
