Omniscient pov

Beyoncé was finally happy.

For the first time in years, she felt free.

Jay had been spending most of his time at Roc, trying to prepare for whatever attack was coming. He didn't know who was after him yet, but he knew it had to be Barbie, Nicki's alias.

Meanwhile, Beyoncé had been spending her time with Nicki.

They had gone on more lunch breaks, sneaking moments of joy between all the chaos. Nicki had even stopped by the house twice. The first time, she played football with Sir in the backyard, letting the little boy tackle her while Beyoncé watched, laughing. The second time, they had taco night with the kids.

It was domestic. It was dangerous.

Beyoncé knew she was playing with fire, but she loved how Nicki was putting in effort with her kids. How she would buy them small toys when she brought Beyoncé her daily coffee and flowers. How she would joke, calling Beyoncé her wife, playfully telling Sir, "Ima be your stepmama next, lil man."

Beyoncé always bribed the kids with ice cream to keep them from telling Jay.

She told herself it wasn't real. That she and Nicki were just... playing make-believe.

But deep down, she knew better.

And now, things were about to get serious.

@ The Met Gala

Everyone looked flawless.

Nicki and her boys were suited up, draped in expensive tuxedos, walking through the Met like they owned the place. Beyoncé was in a breathtaking white gown covered in diamonds looking like the queen she was. Jay had his men spread throughout the building. He knew something was coming. He just didn't know from who.

Nicki and Beyoncé locked eyes from across the room.

Everything slowed down.

Nicki smirked slightly, giving Beyoncé a wink.

Beyoncé's heart raced.

Then—

BANG!

Gunfire erupted.

The room turned into chaos. People screamed, ducking behind tables as Nicki's boys and Jay's men started a shoot out in the middle of the Met Gala. Security had no chance of stopping it—this wasn't a random attack. This was a war.

Bodies dropped. Blood splattered onto the marble floors.

Nicki took out one of Jay's men herself, dodging bullets like she was born for this. Meanwhile, Jay managed to slip away in the chaos.

"F*ck!" Nicki growled, ready to run after him.

But then—

She saw Beyoncé.

Standing in the middle of it all, trembling, blood staining her white dress"

Nicki's heart nearly stopped. She ran to her, her hands cupped Beyoncé's face, looking her over. "Baby, you good?! Are you hit?!"

Beyoncé nodded her head quickly, tears in her eyes, but she didn't answer.

Nicki followed her gaze—saw what she was looking at.

One of Jay's best men, lying dead on the floor beside her.

Nicki grinned. "Yes!"

But Beyoncé snapped her neck to look at her, eyes sharp, making Nicki's smirk immediately disappear.

Nicki sighed, wrapping her arm around Beyoncé's waist. "Come on. I'm taking you home."

"No." Beyoncé sniffled, wiping her eyes. "We need to get my kids first."

Nicki hesitated—Jay was still out there, and going back to his house was risky. But Beyoncé wasn't leaving without them.

So they did.

And the kids wanted Chick-fil-A.

Nicki and Beyoncé sat in the front seat, covered in dried blood, while the kids happily ate nuggets in the back not knowing anything that previously took place before going to get them.

Nicki had to laugh.

Even in the middle of a mafia war, these kids just wanted their kids' meals.

@ Nicki's Penthouse

By the time they got back to Nicki's place, Beyoncé had calmed down. The kids were knocked out in one of the guest rooms, full and happy.

Nicki, however, was pacing back and forth, jaw clenched, itching to get back out there and finish the job.

Beyoncé watched her.

She knew that look.

That hunger for revenge.

But right now... she needed Nicki here.

With her.

So she did the only thing she could think of.

She walked up to Nicki, cupped her face in her hands, and kissed her.

Nicki froze for half a second, but then—she melted.

The kiss was hot, desperate, needy.

Nicki groaned, gripping Beyoncé's hips and pushing her against the wall, kissing her like she was the only thing keeping her alive. Beyoncé tangled her fingers in Nicki's hair, pulling her closer, making it clear—she needed this just as much.

They ended up in the bed, tangled up in each other, finally letting go.

And for the first time in a long time, Beyoncé felt safe.

She fell asleep on Nicki's chest, arms wrapped around her tight.

2:47 AM

Nicki's phone buzzed.

She groggily reached over, checking the text.

"We got him"

Nicki sat up fast, heart pounding.

This was it.

She glanced down at Beyoncé, sleeping peacefully beside her.

Carefully, she slid out of bed, grabbing her gun from the nightstand.

It was time to end this.

For good.
