Jisoo sighed, looking down at her empty glass. "Shall we go back?" she asked, her voice quieter now.
Taehyung nodded absentmindedly, but something felt... wrong.
Jisoo stood up, brushing her hands over her dress as if shaking off the weight of the conversation. She turned to leave, but before she could take a step, Taehyung's fingers wrapped around her wrist, stopping her.
"Jisoo..."
His voice was low, hesitant.
Jisoo swallowed, staring at his hand on her wrist before looking back at him. "What?"
Taehyung didn't meet her eyes. Instead, he stared at the table, his jaw clenched like he was holding something back. And then, barely above a whisper—
"I'm leaving in a month."
Silence.
Jisoo froze. Her breath hitched, her stomach dropping like a stone.
"What?" Her voice was dangerously soft, laced with something sharp—something close to betrayal.
Taehyung lifted his gaze slowly, his expression unreadable. "My police training is over. I got my first official assignment... I'll be stationed in Busan."
Jisoo's chest tightened she exhaled sharply, trying to keep her emotions in check, but the second she saw the look on Taehyung's face—the hesitation, the uncertainty—it all broke.
"So let me get this straight." Her voice trembled, but not with sadness. With anger. "You're leaving. And you just... what? Expected me to confess my own feelings and then watch you walk away like it doesn't matter?"
Taehyung flinched at her words, but he held his ground. "Jisoo, it's not like that—"
"Then what is it like, Kim Taehyung?" She took a step closer, her frustration boiling over.
"We were not on talking terms for whole two years and You don't bother to ask why I suddenly stopped talking to you. And now, now that I've finally convinced myself to move on, you come back and say—what? That you have feelings for me and top of that you're leaving in a month? Do you even hear yourself?!"
Taehyung opened his mouth, then closed it again, completely at a loss for words.
Jisoo let out a humorless laugh. "You're unbelievable. Do you know what it felt like to watch you from afar while you smiled at Jennie, while everyone kept saying you had a crush on her?"
Taehyung froze. "Jisoo..."
She shook her head, blinking rapidly as tears stung her eyes. "I liked you, Taehyung. I liked you so much that I was willing to step back because I thought you liked my best friend. And do you know what the worst part is? Even after all this time, even after I told myself I had to let you go, I still..."
She stopped herself, turning away as if that could stop her emotions from spilling over. But Taehyung had heard enough.
His chest felt tight, his pulse hammering in his ears. Jisoo... she still had feelings for him... right
"Still what ?" Tae questioned and expect her to say the truth
"I still have feelings for you dumb idiot...when i see you tonight, it was like my all feelings for you came back ..i though i moved on but.... I hate you ...I hate this so much" her sound was so low
"Jisoo," his voice was softer now, careful, as if he was afraid she might shatter if he touched her. "I'm only leaving for six months."
