The crates clattered against the wooden planks as Seonghwa hauled another load of provisions into the belly of the Treasure. "Hurry up!" Hongjoong barked, surveying the crew with narrowed eyes. "We sail at dawn. I want everything ready by then."
Everyone had their task: Yunho was negotiating with a merchant over a barrel of rum, San and Mingi stacked sacks of jerky and bread, Wooyoung loudly complained about the heat as he rolled barrels into the storage, and Jongho helped Seonghwa with the cargo. I was making my way between the market stalls, keeping an eye out for fabrics I could use for new bandages or clothing. The sun beat down on my shoulders, the salty smell of the harbor mingling with the scent of exotic spices. Despite the slight breeze, I was still dizzy from all the touches and glances from the day before.
San. Yunho. Their lips on mine. Their breath on my skin. Hongjoong. Yeosang. Their fingers on my body. At the same time. My head felt like a jumbled mess, my thoughts bouncing uncontrollably between the events.
I had successfully bought the first batch of medical supplies and bandages at the market right by the harbor for a good price. I bought so much of everything that I could wrap the crew in bandages hundreds of times over. I hoped it wouldn't come to that, though, even though I couldn't anticipate what the Siren's Gorge would bring.
Since I had my hands full, I decided to drop off my purchases at the Treasure first before heading to an herb stall that Bangchan had recommended for making tinctures and ointments. He had kindly written down some of his recipes with exact ingredients and measurements, so I could easily make them myself.
After checking in with Hongjoong, I stowed the medical supplies in the sickbay. I'd come back later to organize it properly so that my new post as the ship's doctor would be handled professionally, not just as a title. As I left the sickbay and started heading back, strong arms wrapped around my waist before I could reach the small steps to the deck. Before I could react, I was pulled backward into an adjacent storage room.
"What the hell—?" I started, but before I could finish the sentence, the wooden door slammed shut, and before I knew it, I felt a firm chest pressed against my back. The room I found myself in was stuffy and poorly lit. I could barely make out the outlines of some shelves.
"Since last night, I haven't been able to think of anything else," a rough voice whispered in my ear. That cheeky, playful voice, and the unmistakable scent that came with the sudden body contact, I would always recognize it.
Wooyoung.
My breath caught as his hands gripped my waist tightly and pressed me against him. I could feel the heat of his body through the thin fabric between us, his fingers digging possessively into my skin.
"Wooyoung, what are you doing?" I whispered, my voice trembling between excitement and indignation.
"I'm getting what's been driving me crazy since last night." His lips found the back of my neck, hot and demanding, as his fingers effortlessly loosened my corset ties.
"Tell me you haven't been thinking about me. About my tongue. About my fingers. About my fucking mouth between your legs." His quiet laugh vibrated against my back, and the memories of that kitchen encounter on Velurien came rushing back to my mind. As if I'd ever forgotten them.
I felt the air in my lungs catch as he pressed me even harder against him, his arousal unmistakably brushing against my lower back.
"Mmmm..." A soft moan escaped my lips.
"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't take you right here, right now, baby," he growled against my skin, his teeth sharp against my jawline.
I gasped for air, my fingers reaching back and clutching at his shirt. "Because... because..." But I couldn't think of a reason. Not as his hand slid under my dress, not as he effortlessly pulled my panties down and glided his fingers between my legs, not as he proved with his touch just how ready my body already was.
