Nagdaan ang mga araw kung saan habang papalapit na ang pagtatapos ng klase ay ang siya namang paglawak sa pagitan nina Aiah at Mikha. It was partly because of Aiah's decision to distance herself while still admiring the red haired girl from a safe proximity. As for Mikha, she might've asked herself once or twice if she ever did something wrong in accordance to Aiah's silent treatment towards her, but as far as she can remember, there was none. What she didn't know is that, doing nothing could sometimes be the cause itself. But she's not the one to blame, neither Aiah. Gusto niya sanang makapag-usap sila, pero hindi siya makahanap ng tiyempo. They still attend their usual monthly gathering but Mikha and Aiah are no longer talking to each other like they used to. Their friends noticed it, especially Maloi and Colet. They urge them to communicate but they were hard to crack and even deny their obvious loss of interaction. They didn't give so much details other than say that they're okay. Despite being unconvinced, their friends chose to respected their decision.
Graduation Day
Days gone by a bit faster than it seemed. The bittersweet part of being a student has come — the graduation day.
Aiah and Colet walks to the stage as they hear their names being called respectively, escorted by their parents. The ceremony took half of the day and when it's time to leave the venue, Aiah and Colet — to their astonishment, their friends who have been waiting outside, bombarded them with flowers and presents.
“CONGRATS, ATE AIAH, ATE COLET!” They launched to embrace the fresh graduates.
Tears run to Aiah's eyes, feeling emotional. “Awee, thank you, girls!” She said through her little sobs.
“Kaya pala hindi kayo nagrereply, may binabalak pala kayong pakulo! Kainis kayo!” Colet utters, trying to keep herself from crying.
“Of course! We're the best girls, aren't we?” Stacey said and flips her hair making them chuckle.
Maloi moved to Colet's side. “Happy graduation, anger.”
The nickname still made her cringe like the first time she heard Maloi blurt it out, but she's getting used to it now, and actually, she kind of like it, but she'll never admit that. “Thank you, Loi.” She smiled and place her arm around Maloi's waist. It was a good thing their friends didn't notice this subtle moments of them — or so they thought.
“Saan tayo tonight?” Sheena clasps her hands, her eyes sparkling.
Aiah pouted her lips. “Hala, I already have plans with my fam tonight eh.”
Colet nodded. “Kami rin. Dumayo buong pamilya ko mga bai.”
“It's okay, you guys should celebrate it with your family first.” Sabi ni Jhoanna. “Pero, sa amin kayo bukas.” Dagdag niya.
Gwen joined the conversation. “Tama, kumpleto rin tayo bukas.” Sabi niya at saka napagtanto nina Colet at Aiah na may kulang nga sa kanila. Wala si Mikha.
Nalungkot si Aiah. It was the first thing she noticed but she tried to shrug it off. Ito naman 'yong gusto niya diba? Umiwas, lumayo, pero bakit parang masakit na malamang hindi dumalo ang taong gusto niya sa isa sa mahahalagang araw sa buhay niya?
Colet glance at Aiah. It makes her heart ache to see her best friend crestfallen.
“Okay, bukas na lang. Kami na bahala sa lahat. So, enjoy your time with your family, and save your energy for tomorrow. Yiee, excited na ako!” Masayang wika ni Sheena.
Aiah forces a smile — it's still a wonderful day. “Thank you ulit, girls. For coming and for these gifts.”
“You're welcome, we're so happy sa inyong dalawa! Graduate na kayo! Sanaol!” Nakangising sabi ni Jhoanna.
