As the first light of dawn crept in through the paper screens of Y/N's room, casting a soft, golden glow over the opulent chamber, Y/N slowly began to stir from her fitful slumber.

Her eyelids fluttered, the dark shadows beneath them a testament to the tears she had shed and the exhaustion that weighed heavy upon her slender frame.

As she blinked away the last vestiges of sleep, she became acutely aware of the soreness in her body, the aches and pains that seemed to have settled into her very bones.

Y/N sat up slowly, her head pounding as she tried to gather her scattered thoughts and make sense of the events of the previous day.

The memories came rushing back in a dizzying flood - her confrontation with the demon lords, her heart-wrenching conversation with Douma, the way he had held her as she cried herself out in his arms.

A blush crept up her neck and into her cheeks as she recalled the way he had touched her, the sinful way his fingers had tangled in her hair, the dark promise in his eyes.

Shaking her head to dislodge the troubling thoughts, Y/N swung her legs over the side of the bed, her bare feet sinking into the plush carpet beneath. She needed to clear her head, to wash away the lingering traces of tears and the confusion that clouded her mind. And so, with a determined set to her jaw, she made her way towards the adjoining bathing chamber.

The bathroom was a marvel of opulence, with its own hot spring bubbling up from the depths of the earth, the water steaming gently in the cool morning air.

The room was lined with polished wood and adorned with intricate carvings of flowers and vines, their delicate beauty a stark contrast to the harsh, unyielding nature of the demon realm.

Y/N quickly shed her rumpled kimono, letting it pool on the floor at her feet as she stepped into the warm, soothing water.

She settled back against the smooth stones of the bathing ledge, the heat seeping into her muscles and slowly beginning to ease the tension that had taken up residence there.

As she sat in the steaming water, Y/N let her mind wander, her thoughts drifting to the strange and terrifying world she now found herself in.

She was a stranger here, a fish out of water in a realm that seemed determined to swallow her whole.

Because now, for the first time since she had arrived in this strange land, Y/N had a glimmer of hope, a reason to keep fighting.

Wanting it or not, she couldn't just walk out in the sun thinking it will be okay, there's a reason why she couldn't just do it.
