A man in the balcony took a final drag from his cigar, the embers burning brightly before he exhaled a plume of smoke. He turned towards the three men cowering at his feet and asked with a cold, calculated tone.
"So, how did he manage to escape Rajveer's trap?"
The bodyguards stood close by, their presence adding an extra layer of intimidation to the already tense atmosphere. The man in the balcony waited for the answer, his gaze fixed on the three kneeling men, who looked up at him with fear and resignation in their eyes.
"Well? I'm waiting for an answer." he prompted, his voice sharp as a razor's edge.
The three men exchanged nervous glances, their fear palpable in the air. They had already been punished for their failure once, and they knew that another failed answer would only lead to more pain and suffering.
"We...we don't know, b-boss, He just disappeared like a ghost." one of them stuttered out eventually.
"Exactly. He escaped from Rajveer's trap, but then just vanished into thin air. It's good that he got away, but I need answers! Is he dead, or alive? Where the hell is he? If Rajveer gets his hands on him again, I'm finished!" The man in the balcony's tone sharpens even more.
The bodyguards stood even more alert at their boss's anger, knowing well the consequences of failure. The men kneeling in front of him looked even more terrified, their bodies shaking with fear as they struggled to find an answer.
"B-Boss, please, We did everything we could to find him, but he was gone like a ghost." one of them pleaded.
The man in the balcony slammed his hand against the railing of the balcony, his expression twisted into a snarl.
"I don't want excuses! I want results!" he snapped.
"If you can't find him, then what good are you to me? Do you want to end up like the last fools who failed me?"
The man in the balcony seized one of the men by the collar and with a sharp, violent motion, slammed his head multiple times against the metal railing of the balcony.
The impact was brutal, the sound of the man's head thudding against the railing echoing in the tense silence. The bodyguards stood by, their expression stoic, as their boss viciously assaulted the unfortunate man who had failed to give the information.
The man in the balcony let go of the man's collar with a disgusted scoff, watching as he fell to the ground, groaning in pain. The bodyguards rushed to grab him, preventing him from collapsing completely.
"Weak. Pathetic, this is what happens when you disappoint me." the man spat, glaring down at the crumpled figure at his feet.
The men knelt trembling in front of him, their faces pale and sweating, fear etched deeply in their eyes. They knew better than to try and protest or make excuses. The man in the balcony was well known for his ruthlessness, and they had seen firsthand what happened to those who disobeyed him.
The man in the balcony turned his attention to the two remaining men, his eyes cold and calculating. With a swift motion, he took out a gun from a concealed holster and aimed it at the already-injured man.
"One more week. That's all you get, find him, or you'll be the next target." he snapped.
The two men looked at each other with fear and despair in their eyes, knowing that they were now on the clock. One week was all the time they had to find the missing man, or they would meet the same fate as their comrade who now lay lifeless on the balcony floor.
