"This is getting out of hand," a new recruit argued, his voice laced with concern. "They're turning this city into a prison."

"We need to be realistic," another countered. "These measures are necessary to control the virus."

Jiaxing, watching the reports from his hospital bed, exchanged a worried glance with Valerie. "The lines are blurring," he said, his voice low. "Security versus freedom... where do we draw the line?"
