Zhou Feng wandered aimlessly through the massive base, hoping to run into He Kwok. He was still slightly annoyed by the scientist's attitude. Sure, his guild had a terrible reputation, but that didn’t mean he was the same as the rest of them.
After half an hour of searching, he finally found the exit leading outside, where soldiers were training. From a distance, he spotted He Kwok—standing right beside the scientist he had asked for directions.
"Seriously?" Zhou Feng frowned. He had specifically asked for directions, only for Ji Zeyan to come straight here himself. Is this guy messing with me?
He Kwok noticed him approaching. "What are you doing here?" he asked, his face cold. But Zhou Feng, ever observant, caught the faint trace of amusement in his voice.
"I had something to say to you." Zhou Feng replied, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "But it looks like someone has a personal grudge against me." His gaze flickered to Ji Zeyan, clearly unimpressed. He had just spent half an hour wandering like an idiot because of him.
He Kwok glanced at Ji Zeyan, then ruffled the scientist’s already messy hair. "Well, of course, people hate you. Your guild sucks." He laughed.
Zhou Feng rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, I get it."
Ji Zeyan shot him a look of pure disgust. "I know this individual is important for our objectives, but you need to be careful around him." he warned He Kwok. "He’s not a good person." His eyes scanned Zhou Feng from head to toe, then narrowed. "But I know he’s no match for you."
"I know he's no match for me. We've fought a couple of times already, and I won every single one." He Kwok said with a smirk, recalling each moment he had pinned Zhou Feng down. Of course, it always ended with a slap to the face or a punch to the stomach, but to him, it was worth it—just for the chance to get a taste of the other man.
Zhou Feng, immediately catching the underlying meaning in the other man’s words, clenched his fist, ready to land a solid hit. But He Kwok was faster. He caught Zhou Feng’s fist midair with ease, gripping it firmly.
"Not today." he said with a smile, gently pushing the CEO’s hand back down.
"How dare you try to fight inside our base!?" Ji Zeyan snapped, furious.
Before Zhou Feng could respond, He Kwok simply waved him off. "Don't worry about it. His temper is always a mess."
Zhou Feng sighed, shaking off the irritation bubbling inside him. Not that he could openly explain why he had wanted to punch He Kwok in the first place. Instead, he scoffed.
"You're such a man to still get defended by your lover, aren't you?" he said, voice laced with irony.
Ji Zeyan, caught completely off guard by the comment, turned stiff. And before Zhou Feng could react, a sharp pain shot through his leg as Ji Zeyan kicked him—hard.
Zhou Feng doubled over, gritting his teeth. "What the hell?! What’s wrong with you!?" he growled, his hand gripping his knee as he tried to recover from the unexpected attack. But when he looked up, his irritation shifted into pure amusement.
Ji Zeyan’s head was tilted down, his messy hair covering his face—except for the obvious flush spreading across his cheeks.
No way…
Zhou Feng narrowed his eyes, watching the scientist’s reaction carefully. He couldn’t believe it. Someone actually had a crush on that idiotic pervert? And, more importantly, this might finally be his chance to get away from He Kwok’s constant harassment.
His grin widened.
He Kwok was good-looking, strong, and kind—of course, he was the perfect boyfriend material for someone. Just not for me.
