It hurts, doesn't it? It hurts to love. Just when you think you've found that special someone that'll love you forever, they betray you.
Love is unfair. You do so much for that special someone, don't you? You risk your life, spend your money, waste your time, and give your heart to them. But they don't return the favor. They take you for granted. So why do you love them? Why did you throw away your life for them? You don't exactly know, do you? You just love them so much, no matter what they do to you. You try to convince yourself every day that they love you. You lie to yourself because you need to feel that sense of love. You need to know that someone loves you. But that doesn't always work, does it?
Love is dangerous. Once you're out of that trance that you've been in for so long, you realize that they don't feel the same. Anger bubbles up inside of you. You feel like such an idiot for falling head over heels for them. You scream and throw things, and yell at them. You just want to...strangle them, don't you?
Love isn't always that way, is it?
Before the conflict, love is calm. You and that special someone just lay on the couch, holding each other as you watch a movie. You focus on nothing more than being with them and feeling their warm embrace.
Before the conflict, love is fun. You hang out with that special someone every day, going to amusement parks and for a walk to the ice cream parlor, holding hands as you explore together and smiling at things you see.
Before the conflict, love is enjoyable. When you wake up and see that special someone beside you, you can't help but smile. You enjoy having someone who cares about you that will listen to you with true love as you tell them about how your day is.
But then, conflict strikes.
That special someone cheats, breaks up with you, screams at you, takes everything you've worked so hard for.
Then what does that love become?
Love becomes a struggle. You barely ever smile when you see that someone or are with them. You don't even talk to them. You start to wonder whether it's going to last.
Love becomes a lie. All those times when you were told your relationship would last with that someone are soon realized as lies. When they told you they'd love you forever... That becomes a lie. Everything you've ever said to each other become lies that you believe you said just to hold on for a little more.
After it all, love becomes nothing. You no longer have feelings for each other. No more hugging, kissing, or cuddling. No more "I love you's" or "I miss you's." Your love is nothing. It's over. You leave each other and find someone else to call your one and only.
And it starts all over again.
