-Jerome's POV-

I raced down my driveway after saying a swift goodbye to Mum, I sprint sliding my backpack on and reaching Mitch's front door, I was so excited because I got him a present. I knock on his door tapping my foot impatiently. After about 10 seconds of waiting Mitch comes to the door. "MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITCH!!" I yell jumping on him. "JERRRRROOOOOMMMMEEEEE!!" He returns giving me a hug. "Seeya Mum!" Mitch yells before closing his front door. We walk down his drive way before quickly running out of sight of both our houses. When we slowed down I gave him a quick peck on the cheek. Smiling at his sudden blush. "Mitch I got you a present!" I yell frantically opening my backpack and pulling out a small cardboard box. I hand it to him before looking down. What if he doesn't like it? Should I have got something else? Before I knew Mitch was hugging me saying the same thing over and over which I didn't mind, "Thank you Jerome! Thank you!" Seeing as I was taller than him, he stepped up on his tippy toes giving me a peck on the cheek. I feel my face redden and he chuckles. "Can you help me put it on?" Mitch asks holding the the chain necklace in his hand. I nod and he passes it to me. The present was two dog tags with our names on them my name on a silver one and Mitch's name on the other. I stood behind him clipping up the necklace and smiling at him.

I exit the class as soon the bell went and immediately ran to Mitch who was in our usual spot on the stairs near the wall in the playground. "Heyyyooooo!!!!" I yelled as I sit next to him. He didn't say anything. I guess he is spacing out? I put my hand on his should and shook it, "Mitch? Miiiiiiiiitch?" I say as I shake. "huh? Oh sorry Hi Jerome!!!!" I look at him and pout "what were you thinking about?" Mitch shrugs his shoulders, "Hey Jerome, do you wanna go to the park later this afternoon after school?" Mitch says staring at me dead in the eyes. I nod excitedly. "Okay!!"

~Mitch's POV~ "((it's been a long day with out you my friend))"

I wait nervously on the swings at the park not wanting to tell Jerome but I had to... I see Jerome skip into the park and run over to me immediately and hug me. I smile sadly, "J-Jerome I need to tell you something....." Jerome's smile drops. "I-I'm," I start to cry, "Mitch don't tell me!" He yells starting to cry too. "J-Jer- I'm sure I'll see you again! Jerome I love you!" Jerome shakes his head, "How long have you known? When are you leaving?" I freeze and sob. "I-I've known f-for a week and I-I leave tomorrow.." Jerome's facial expression changes from crying to crying and his eyes screaming with anger, "You never told me?! Why!? We. Told each other everything!!" I sat there looking at the ground crying. I looked back up to see him running out of the park, "It's been a long day without my friend and I'll tell you all about it when I see you again......" I get up from the swing and walk back home kicking a pebble across the ground, "I love you Jerome Aceti and I'll see you again I know it."
