-Phil's POV-
I don't think. I open Dan's car door and walk as fast as I could to the entrance. I hear Dan calling my name, but I didn't care, I wanted to see what Xavier put down. I get arrive at the door and see a large metal padlock. I lift it and examine it, I see Dan come over and stare at the door.
I look over to him and back at the padlock, "Phil? What does the piece of paper say?" I look at the door and see a little piece of yellow paper, I rip it off the door tearing off a corner. "'I See Everything and YOU OUTSIDE. that's your first clue. the box shall help -M,'" I shove the paper in my jean pocket and start walking back to the car not wanting to believe what I read and saw.
Dan jumps in the drivers side and places something in the back, it seemed to be a box.. Probably the one 'M' was talking about.. "Dan.. Do you think Xavier-" He cuts me off, "Yes, but it could be one of 'M''s tricks.." I think for a moment, "Dan what if he is 'M'.." Dan shrugs, "Let's question him, call Jerome and tell him to meet at ours K?" I nod and start dealing Jerome's number.
P: Jerome!
J: Phil.. Do you know what time it is?
P: Yep! 10:20 pm!
J: Sarcastic bitch. What do you want?
P: I'm not a bitch! Come to my place now! It's like important.
J: But Bu-
P: Nope! Don't make me come there and drag your ass.
J: But I'm comfy!
P: Jerome it has to do with Mitch.
J: Excuse me?
P: You heard.
J: You really are a bitch, I'll be there in five.
P: Thanks Jay.
J: Yeah whatever.
The line goes dead. And I nod to Dan. "He's in." Dan nods and pulls into the driveway.
-Sime Tkip-
The three of us stand around the island in my kitchen. "So this box is a clue aswell as this paper?" Dan and I nod in unison, "Well let's take it to the police!" I immediately shake my head, "Jerome no! No way! It has Xavier's prints!" Dan puts the box directly in the middle, "Phil and I thought we could interrogate him.." Jerome scoffs at Dan's words.
"Subtly or handcuff him to a chair," I sigh and Dan shakes his head, "We were thinking you could do it. Interrogate him, he'll tell you the truth." Dan says resting his palms on the island. Jerome shakes his head, "Yeah no!" He says crossing his arms over his chest. "Jerome do it for Mitch," I say looking over to him.
He winces slightly at the sound of Mitch's name then stares at me, "Fine! But you bitches owe me!" Dan and I look at each other then at Jerome. "You're tired, go sleep on the couch." He laughs, "Yeah I'm tired but I want to find out what's in the box," He says pointing to the box, Dan nods and pushes it over to him, "Open it," Jerome wearily looks at us and rests his hand on the box moving to the lid.
He jerks it open and stares, "A key?" He whispers. Dan and I look at each other wide eyed, "The warehouse.." He whispers. "What warehouse?" Jerome says looking at us both. "Where we found the box.. It was put the front of a warehouse.." Jerome closes the lid, "Let's go th-" He was cut off by his phone ringing.
He looks at the screen then shows us, 'Xavier Meriff', "Pick it up!" I yell and he does, he puts it on speaker, "Jerome.." A cracking voice comes from the other side, it sounds as if he was crying, "I'm sorry!" Xavier continues. "For what? Xavier what's wrong?" Jerome tried to sound worried, which worked.
"Everything! The fact that D-Dan and Phil know I put t-the box there.. And t-they told Y-you everything!" He was hiccuping over his own words, choking on sobs. "Xavier calm down and come the their's. I'm at their's and we can sort this out.." Jerome's reply was a sobbed no.
"I-I'll come tomorrow," He sobs only getting stronger. "X-" Jerome was cut off by Xavier hanging up. Jerome swore under his breath and put his phone down. "Let's go." He says and Dan and I nod. The thing I really want to know is how Xavier knew we were there...
