Paris, 1965

The red carpet was a mess, Lisa stepped on the back of my heel more times than not and who would've thought French photogs would be such assholes? I was asked to smile, so I did but then they yelled that I shouldn't smile. When I didn't smile, they called me a prude, what the hell was I supposed to do?

An interviewer had asked if I was planning on divorcing my wife after the 'scare' from a few weeks ago. I was left stunned that they were asking such questions at a red carpet, you'd think there would be more class involved but I guess not. Luckily Lisa was there to tell them to kindly 'fuck off'.

Now all I need is a manhattan and my wife.

"Want a drink Rosie?"

"Yes please. Can you get-"

"A manhattan, I know Rosie," Lisa smiles warmly before leaving my side and heading to the bar.

Now that I'm alone, I get a moment to fully appreciate my surroundings. First impressions: it looks like gold threw up all over the place but in a good way. There's gold champagne glasses getting carried by waiters. There are gold statues of Greek goddesses even though we're not in Greece. The entire place looks like it's made out of solid 24 carat gold with diamonds hanging from the ceiling. It's absolutely gorgeous but at the same time suffocating. How much money do you need to have to pull something like this off? Raphael Mock certainly didn't hold back.

The gold atmosphere makes it feel like I'm not allowed to touch anything.

I watch as Jennie and Jisoo approach me with an unfamiliar man at Jennie's side. "Rosie!" Jennie waves me over and I start to get flashbacks from Y/N's Christmas party in 1961 when she waved me over to talk to the Mick Jagger. Jennie was never a big social butterfly but there's something about seeing your best girls start to flourish and grow. I wipe the tears starting to form in my eyes when I remember how closed off and shy Jennie used to be. Now she's conversing with A-listers from all over the world and she glows brighter than the sun on its best days.

"Hey Rosie," Jennie gives me a quick hug before pulling a tall, slightly shy, Asian man toward her. "Rosie, I want you to meet Charles Melton." I chance a look at Jisoo and feel myself retreat from her. Jisoo has that look on her face where you can't figure out what she's thinking. You don't know if she's happy, upset or annoyed. She's completely stoic and it's terrifying.

"Hi Charles," he shakes the hand that I offer and gives it a small kiss. I take a better look at him when he goes back to his full height. He has nice cheek bones and absolutely gorgeous lips. His hair is slicked back but I can tell that his hair is equally as beautiful. It's a bit odd seeing an Asian man with a moustache but somehow Charles pulls it off way too well. I throw Jennie a quick smirk and she rolls her eyes at me. "Roseanne, I've heard so much about you from Jennie." I feel myself blush when I hear his voice. It's like a masculine version of Y/N's. Both soft but his is deeper.
"Only good things I hope?" He takes a sip of his drink and nods, his eyes giving an inviting smile. "Of course! No bad things. You three are so incredibly talented, I think I fell in love at your concert."

My eyes wander behind him, hoping I catch Y/N somewhere in the crowd but instead, I end up making eye contact with a man who has short hair. The eye contact is intense and I have to force myself to look away. "Rosie?"

"Yeah?" I ask, a little breathless for some reason. "Charles asked you a question," I turn to Charles and force myself to forget the man with brown eyes and short hair. "Sorry, what was it?"

"Your wife, Y/N, why isn't she here with you? I heard she was here tonight."

"She arrived her before us, something about Raphael needing to discuss something with her. I'm actually trying to look for her right now but I can't find her anywhere."
