Tears felt pointless, my body was drained, and I believed my heart was now worthless. I sensed people departing one by one, leaving me alone in a place where my happiness used to thrive, now just a barren wasteland that intensified my pain.

She took everything from me, leaving me feeling utterly worthless. It seemed this would be the final lesson I would learn. To not trust anyone. I tried to disregard the ache in my heart, but it became increasingly difficult to ignore, as the hurt intensified, leading tears to stream down my face.

I whispered to myself, "I should have loved you to death, Yn," while my body felt like it was going numb, my blood freezing as my thoughts fixated on her. What would I do without her? That question overwhelmed me with fear. The cold air around me provided no comfort that it used to give. I had remained in that same spot for hours, frozen and unable to move.

Suddenly, I was yanked into a black van. Before I could react, someone pressed a cloth against my nose, forcing me to hold my breath. I managed to punch the man in the gut as he gasped in pain. "I told you it's an old trick, idiots!" another man yelled. Just as I turned to see their faces, a sharp pain hit my head, as a ring rang in my ear rendering me momentarily blank.

...

I heard muffled whispers as a sharp kick landed in my stomach, making me groan in pain. My eyes slowly opened, only to receive a harsh slap that sent me to the ground.

Looking up, I saw a man grinning as he adjusted his sleeves, while others in the room laughed. Could this be the Pericoloso? I glared at him, attempting to rise but collapsing again while they chuckled.

"You're as weak as a leaf; don't try too hard, or you might just break," he sneered, causing me to send him a fierce glare. I mustered all the strength in my legs and stood, watching him gulp in fear. I walked closer, forcing him to back up a bit as I chuckled.

"What are you so afraid of, this trembling leaf?" I taunted, redirecting the attention to his comrades who were laughing at his embarrassment. "You brat," he spat, and as he pushed me to swing a punch, I caught his fist tightly, making his face contort in rage.

I kicked him in the stomach, causing him to fall and squeal in agony, stunning everyone else into silence.

That silence shattered when a voice yelled, "How dare you!?" It snapped everyone back to attention as they lunged at me. One man grabbed my arm; I turned and punched him in the face, making his nose bleed badly and kicked his leg from under him as hissed in pain and glared at me with burning orbs.

Two more men seized me, and another punched my stomach, eliciting a groan. I wriggled free, and kicked one man hard in the legs, and twisted his neck, feeling the chaos rise around me as they charged again. Then, gunfire broke the tension, freezing everyone in their tracks.

I looked up to see Yn holding a gun, her eyes locking with mine, igniting my anger. She stood there, her presence suffocating, as I wiped the blood off from my nose and felt a surge of disgust and betrayal wash over me.
