As I prepared for the event, I caught sight of my reflection in the mirror. I felt the urge to call him once more. Grabbing my phone from the bed, I dialed his number and waited, a tear sliding down my cheek.

“Won't you talk to me, son?” The words ran, my heart felt like it would shatter into a million pieces.

“Do you hate me too?” A horn brought me back to reality, halting my steps as I wondered if I had made a mistake. Taking a deep breath, I slowly descended the stairs and exited the mansion. Outside, Yn greeted me with her cheerful nature, smiling brightly.

“Mom! Aren't you coming?” she called out, and I nodded before climbing into her car. “Wow, Mom, you look so beautiful!” she exclaimed giggling, prompting a shy smile from me as my attention remained on the road while she drove.

“The weather is lovely!” she said, making me glance outside; it seemed like rain was imminent, with the wind blowing strongly and the earthy scent of wet soil filling the air. “Mom??” I snapped back to the moment and noticed Yn’s shocked expression.

“Are you okay?” she asked, concern evident in her eyes. I swallowed hard, trying to suppress a lump in my throat, and nodded as she pulled over to the side of the road. “Is something bothering you?” she inquired, and I struggled to find the words. After a moment, I managed to say,

“No.” She watched me intently, then continued driving. “You know, I’m sorry if..,” she began, but I cut her off. “No, it’s just that I’m feeling overwhelmed.” I interrupted her as she was bouncing with excitement and jumping into conclusions. I glanced at my hands, acknowledging that what happened was in the past, and now it was time to see what lay ahead.

"Mom, look where we are!" she exclaimed, and I smiled as she quickly sprang out of the car, rushed to my side, and opened the door for me. She extended her hand towards me, asking,

"Will you be my date for the day?" I chuckled at her playful request but accepted her hand and stepped out as she beamed and shut the car door behind me.

I remarked, "I've never seen a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law go on a date before," causing her eyes to widen as she embraced me tightly. "Really!? So, you agree?" she said, surprised. When I pulled back and met her glossy eyes, I nodded. We embraced again, and I whispered softly in her ear,

"Welcome to the Jeon family, daughter-in-law." She pulled away, pouting, "But you know Jungkook and I aren't married yet." I playfully pinched her cheeks and replied, "Then make him fall in love with you again." She laughed, and we entered the venue, where the vibrant atmosphere surrounded us.

A man approached Yn and said, "Good evening, Ms. Lee. Is this Mrs. Lee?" Yn smiled and replied, "No, this is Mrs. Jeon, and I am Ms. Jeon." I was taken aback, and he seemed confused as I nodded and greeted him before he departed confused, leaving us giggling.
