Revenge. A word that can blindfold people and prevent them from seeing the light around them. It can destroy lives and love. It's not meant to be kept in the heart but sometimes it just stays there.
Jungkook could never forgive the person who destr...

"How are you?"
"I'm good. Better than before." A dulcet voice answered. The form of a pretty male shining in all his glory as he sat before the psychiatrist for one of his weekly sessions.
"I'm glad. Was the last session a bit helpful to you?"
"It was. I felt understood Chansub hyung. Thank you for hearing my story with so much empathy." His voice wavered slightly with the strong emotions surging inside his body. He felt grateful for the elder.
"That is what I'm here for Taehyung. I want you to feel understood. I want you to let all your worries out and make the life of your choices now." Chansub gave the younger an encouraging look. "Let's continue with where we left last time. We can work on so many of your questions that way. Hmm."
Taehyung gave him a gentle nod and took a deep breath in. It was difficult for him to relive his past but running away from it would only stretch his sufferings more. He had taken this decision for his own mental health and was going to be strong for the same.
"I woke up in the hospital three months after that horrible day." He began. His eyes staring into a distance as if looking right at himself lying in that white room. "At the beginning I was confused but later I remembered what had happened and also got to know that I had a heart surgery. Somehow I got lucky enough to have a transplant."
A small laugh escaped his mouth as he remembered that day. "All of them were standing around me. They looked happy to see me alive. Jungkook was crying while holding my hand but I felt a surge of anger inside me. I was not able to look at any of them. I still feel the way I pulled my hand away from his grasp harshly before asking the doctor to send them all out. I didn't want to see anybody."
There was a small pause, the male taking a few seconds to calm down himself. "The next few days were only filled with apologizies and promises but I couldn't just look at him. He had left me all alone that day. He had sent me those stupid divorce papers. He wanted to take our son away from me and I didn't even know my mistake. I had searched for him everywhere but he decided to run away. He couldn't trust me at all."
The air in the room went thick with the amount of tension that conversation held. Taehyung was making sure that he vented out everything he had felt back then.
"What did you do then? What was your decision?" Chansub inquired.
"I gave him what he had asked of me." Taehyung sighed. "I signed the papers but refused the sole custody. He didn't even say a word about it. He let me have Haneul all to myself. That day Jungkook just stood before me looking at the floor as if he would accept everything I did without any questions."
"So did he?"
The silver haired boy nodded, a small tear cascading down his rosy cheeks. "He did. He accepted every bitter word I directed at him. He never questioned me for the divorce either. 'I deserve it', that is all he said that day."
"And how has your life been since then? How are things now?" Chansub wanted Taehyung to tell him everything. Each and everything that had happened and had jolted any emotion inside the boy's heart.
"He has not stopped trying. He comes by my house everyday, at first I thought it was only for our son but I was wrong. He comes there for me. He talks to me about his day every evening, cooks food for me and Haneul, brings me gifts, cleans the house in my absence and never fails to promise me a better life ahead.
It has been a year hyung, a year since I divorced him. I haven't even looked at him properly this entire time but he never fails to show me his effort each day. His actions never lack enthusiasm and honesty. He has never even left us alone for even a day, not even when he is under the weather."
"That is good news, isn't it? This is what you wanted out of your decision, right?" Chansub raised an eye. His question absolutely direct.
"Yes. I wouldn't deny it. I did want him to try harder." Taehyung answered without any hesitance. "But more than that I took this decision for myself hyung. I have always loved him and I will forever love him but I can't let that thing compromise with my own respect. If I would have forgiven him without any consequences then it would have created a wound in my self esteem.
He did wrong back then but I don't blame him for it. He was just as wounded as me. He was just as misguided. If he didn't trust me enough to talk to me about that entire situation, I didn't trust him enough to tell him about my asshole of a father and his cruel games. We lacked communication and our relationship went downhill because of that but I tried my best after our marriage. I gave it my all and he didn't.
He let his fears hold him back, so now I wanted him to try. I wanted to see if he could keep loving me despite not getting the same in return. I wished for him to also read my eyes just as I read his. I hope I was not wrong."
Chansub smiled. "You weren't. I am proud of you for choosing yourself this time. You can't love someone else if you can't love yourself first Tae. Sometimes it's important to grow distant in order to come closer. This decision was the best one for your mental and emotional health. I'm glad you were strong enough to take it."
Taehyung could only smile at the gesture. He felt a sense of calmness inside him. A sense of happiness surging in his heart knowing that atleast someone understood him and his decision. "Thank you hyung." He whispered with a heavy voice.
"You don't need to thank me." The elder said, his eyes twinkling with curiosity. "Although you can tell one thing. What do you think of Jungkook now. Has he started reading your eyes too?"
Taehyung stilled.
His eyes getting glossy with the answer running through his mind.
A beautiful smile embraced his lips as he opened them to speak.
"He has. He reads them too well now."
