"Oh... are you sure you're okay to watch her? I could call off and ask for more time off." I hugged Birdie who cooed and gripped my hair.
"YN, it's fine! And if I need help-"
"Call me! Call me if she even throws up and you can't stand it. I'll leave and come running."
"YN!" Crystal laughed. "I have Gun to help me if I need it. We're more than capable."
"Why am I being dragged into this?" Gun frowned and glanced at her.
"Because you're getting paid to." Crystal glared.
I looked down at my daughter who was playing with my necklace.
She stuck her tongue out and blew a raspberry.
"But..."
"YN. It's been four months. Not a day has gone by that you haven't been at her side. Mom guilt is bound to hit, but it's going to be okay." She smiled at me.
She's right. I have to go back to work.
I kissed her little head and hesitated to hand her over to Gun.
"Come here, you little gremlin."
Birdie reached for Gun and grabbed his glasses, pulling them off his face and putting them into her mouth.
"No- damn it."
"Okay... I'll be back later." I picked up my bag "There's milk that I pumped in the fridge... that should be enough for today. If not, there's some in the freezer. You know how to warm the milk, right? Oh, and do you remember where the dippers and wipes are? If she needs a bath-"
"YN! We know. You went over it a million times. Now go! And if you want to go out with your coworkers and have to stay out later, that's okay. We'll be here."
I walked over and gave Birdie a kiss.
"Mommy loves you, Birdie. I'll be back later... will you send me pictures and videos?" I turned to Crystal.
"Of course. Now, shoo!"
I gave my baby a last look before getting in the car and crying for a bit.
Once I arrived at the film studio, I wiped my tears and headed inside.
I opened the door and everyone cheered, confetti fell around me.
"Welcome back!" Everyone shouted and I started to tear up again.
"Thank you... I left my baby though..." I choked out.
I got hugs and everyone comforting me.
Almost everyone.
Once everyone gave me space and I wiped my eyes, I started to my dressing room.
"Welcome back."
I turned and saw DG.
I stared at him for a second.
He hasn't met his daughter yet.
He doesn't even know her name or gender.
"Thank you, DG."
I was about to walk away when Matt ran over.
"Hey, welcome back, YN!"
He hugged me tightly and I squeaked.
He pulled away but his hands remained on my upper arms.
"How's the baby? She was so cute when I saw her in the hospital. She looks so much like you!"
"She's doing good. It was so hard leaving her this morning though." I fidgeted with my hands out of guilt.
"Ahh, mom guilt. But I'm sure she's in good hands."
"Yeah. She is."
DG was still standing there.
"When can I come visit again?" He asked.
"Not today or tomorrow, but the day after that should be fine." I said after looking at my schedule.
"Deal!"
