I looked around, hoping nobody I knew was about.
Theo noticed me and smirked, leaning back against the railings.
I rolled my eyes and walked over to him, fumbling in my bag to reach for his shirt.
"Keep it"
"I don't want it"
"It looks good on you"
"I don't care just take the damn shirt"
I pulled it out of my bag and handed it to Theo.
"Kara?" I heard Scott question from behind me.
"Oh shit" I muttered.
"What's going on?"
"Nothing" I replied quickly.
"Why have you got his shirt?"
"N-no reason"
He glanced between us. "Did you two-"
"No!" Theo and I said in unison.
I scoffed. "He wishes"
Scott frowned and I sighed.
"Do I really have to tell the story?"
"It is a long story" Theo said in my defence.
Scott cocked his head to the side, his eyebrows raised.
I groaned. "I threw up in the car and my shirt got messed up so I borrowed one of Theo's spares, happy now?"
"I guess" he shrugged, still keeping his eyes on Theo. "Have you guys noticed anything suspicious yet"
"About the chimera things?"
"Yeah. Have you seen anything?"
"So basically we're looking for abnormal behaviour?" Theo cut in.
"Anyone acting a little off or a little weird" Scott replied.
I frowned, looking into the crowd. "Isn't everyone a little weird in high school?"
"Yeah good point" Scott mumbled before turning to the stairs. Theo and I followed.
"You remember Tracy went on a killing spree for reading that" Theo reminded, referencing to the dread doctors book.
"Do you think it's a bad idea?" Scott questioned.
"I think Malia almost getting run down by a car would have been bad. That's why you guys haven't finished it, right?"
"We're going to" I said.
"Look I came here hoping to find a pack" Theo informed. "I wasn't planning on watching one fall apart"
"Book's all we got" Scott said
"Then I'll read it too"
