Newts pov.
After i showed greenie around the glade we sat down by the fire and watched everyone dance around in fun. I looked over at him and caught him staring at someone. I looked in the direction and saw rain. Oh boy...
"Oh no greenie, i suggest you keep those looks to yourself. Rain is gallys girl. He will be bloody pissed if he catches you looking at her. Trust me he has a temper and he knows how to put it to use." I warned.
"Why is she the only girl here?" I shook my head.
"Man no one knows but shes been here for two years and she is leader consultant, kind of like me being second in command, she helps make decisions ... here drink this, itll put some hair on your chest." I said and handed him a glass of gallys homeade brue.
He choked and spit it out. "what in the hell was that?" I just laughed at his reaction.
"Ah that is gallys own special brue. here come on." We stood up and started to walk around. I pointed out the groups that he might be sorted into.
His question kind of caught me off guard. "What if i want to be a runner?" He asked in all seriousness.
"un well no one wants to be a runner. And besides you have to get chosen." I said and he stopped walking.
"Wait chosen by who?" And before i could answer he was knocked out of the way by the guy rain pushed out of the ring.
After greenie brushed himself off he stood up. "What do you say greenie, wanna see what your made of?" Gally asked as he lightly pushed rain out of the ring.
Oh hell this wont end well.
Rains pov.
After gally took my place i went and stood by minho. We watched as greenie got kicked around until he got gally off guard and pushed him to the ground. Me and minho looked at eachother in thought. Obviously this pissed gally off.
"not bad for a greeny huh?" Greenie taunted. But then gally swept his leg underneath the greenie makimg him fall and hit his head.
"Thomas." Greenie stood up. "I remember my name. Im thomas!" After that shouted this out the crowed went silent for a minute then all shouted in glee.
Everyone cheered and congratulated him. Even gally walked up to him and congratulated him. Our festival was cut short when a roar from the maze errupted our ears.
"What was that?" Thomas asked kind of scared.
"That my friend was a greiver. Relax your safe here with us. Just keep your distance from those walls." Gally said with a warning but calming tone.
"come on rain lets get to bed." He said as he pulled me into him.
I looked back at thomas. "Glad you remembered your name thomas. Oh and ya might want to listen to gally just keep your distance and you will be safe." I said with a slight smile.
When me and gally got back to our hut he just looked at me. "Baby what's wrong?" I asked in a soothing tone.
"Nothing. No not nothing ok i warned thomas about the maze. Hopefully he will listen. But what about you its not safe out there and i cant lose you." He said with tears threatening to spill.
"Gally i have been a runner since day one. I was strong before i came here, and im strong now. Im not going to get hurt ok. As long as i stick with ben and minho i will be safe. No need to worry. Now lets get to bed i have to get up early to help frypan with the lunches." He nodded and climbed umder the sheets pulling me close to him.
I nuzzled my head into his chest thinking about his words. I know its not safe but we need to find a way out for the gladers. For me and gally.
