Christian helps Roger with Luna's pregnancy craving.
"Damn it!" Roger cursed as he flung the front door of the family mansion open.
"What crawled up your butt and died?" Ashley asked him as he stomped down the hall and sat with a huff.
"It's Luna."
"What happened this time?"
"What do you mean by, 'this time'?
Ashley blew a raspberry. "No offense, baby bro. But you've been complaining a lot about Luna's behavior lately."
"Is everything alright between you two?" Sarah felt concerned.
"We are fine." Roger hissed out.
"That sounded so convincing." Ashley sounded sarcastic.
"We are." Roger insisted. "It's Luna's cravings."
"I remember those days." Jessie chimed in when she entered the den with a tray of snacks in her hands.
"Were you picky about what Bryan got you?" Roger asked his werewolf sister.
Jessie gave him a funny look "What do you mean?"
"If you were craving, let's say pickles, would you have accepted them without complaining how they were presented to you?"
Jessie blinked. "I accepted food that Bryan fetched for me and scarfed it without question. Did Luna say something to you?"
Roger crossed his arms. "Earlier this morning she was craving donuts, right? Well, I got dressed at the crack of dawn to get her donuts from mom and dad's favorite bakery. The baker gave me fresh out of the oven donuts since he knew who our parents were. I happily took them to her, and she cried her eyes out saying they were not what she wanted."
"You know how hormones can affect a pregnant woman." Sarah tried to explain logically. "Maybe she no longer craved them and felt bad that you went out to fetch them?"
Roger gave his blonde sister a look. "Oh no. She wanted donuts but not the ones I got her."
The sound of the door opening caught everyone's attention. "Yo!" Jacob called out before entering the room with John following him. "What did we miss?"
"Nothing much." Ashley spoke. "Just Luna going bananas over donuts." Roger gave her the stink eye. "What?"
Jacob frowned. "What happened?"
Sighing, Roger repeated his story to the two brothers that walked in.
"Hm." John had a thought. "Perhaps you could ask Christian what went awry."
"Why the little twerp?" Roger got annoyed. "It's always up to him to make things right between me and Luna."
John stealthily took a seat. "I have noticed him taking her food during breakfast and lunch a few times when I have escorted Sebastian to work or joined him during lunch break."
Before Roger could speak, Jacob cut him off. "That would work to your advantage." Jacob told him. "And spare you fighting with Luna if you asked her straight out what you did wrong."
Murmuring under his breath, Roger took his cell phone out and dialed Christian's number.
"Put it on speaker." Ashley urged him. "This i gotta hear."
Roger did so and after two rings, Christian answered. "Roger?"
"Let's cut to the chase." Roger tried not to sound too grumpy. "I bought Luna fresh donuts this morning and she cried. And a little silent bird said that you take her food sometimes. Now tell me, what donuts does Luna like?"
"Wait. Did you say you got fresh donuts?"
Roger gritted out, "Yeah, so?"
"This is going to sound weird but, Luna only eats day old donuts."
Everyone was surprised. "Excuse me?" Ashley spoke. "Did I just hear that Luna eats day old donuts?"
"Why do you guys always put me on speaker?" Christian retorted.
"Because it's you." Roger snapped at him. "You're not pulling my leg, are you?"
"No." Christian answered. "I learned the hard way when she threw a batch of hot donuts at me."
"Were there any injuries?" Jessie felt sympathetic towards her long-lost brother.
"A couple of donuts I was able to catch with my mouth, but a majority of them were smashed to bits." Christian said tearfully making the others grunt.
"And how did you learn about the day old donuts?" Roger tried to be patient with Christian.
"I asked her." Was his reply. "Well, after handing her a box of tissues when she began crying."
"And she just told you?" Roger asked incredulously.
"Well, yeah." Christian replied. "She was aware of the damage she caused and explained and apologized to me. So I have learned to ask her about the specifics of her cravings before grabbing them for her. You should've seen her once with ice."
"Is it that simple?"
"Yup."
"Huh." Roger spoke. "Thanks a lot, squirt. I'll take your advice." He hung up before Christian could speak and got up.
"Where are you going?" Jacob asked him.
"To find some day old donuts and to talk to Luna." Roger answered as he was exiting the manor.
"Gosh." Ashley spoke. "If I get that bad when I have kids, you guys talk some sense into me."
The others murmured as they tried picturing Ashley being a mom.
