The boy woke from sleeping with his father walking into his room and gently shaking him up. "Hey Skylar, ready for school?" The boy opened his eyes slowly, yawning. "No... more sleep...", he muttered, rolling over and closing his yellow eyes once more. His father smiled, throwing the covers off the boy. The boy moaned, crying out; "Dad! It's cold!" The yellow-eyed-boy looked at his father once he sat up in his bed. He glared daggers at his father, who was smiling. "You always acted like your mother when you woke up. 'More sleep!'" He laughed, then walked to the door. "Get ready fast Skylar, you might get more than toast while your running to school." Skylar- who was very mad- yelled after his dad when he left the room; "IT'S SKY."

Sky groaned and pulled himself out of bed, his bare feet touching the harsh cold wood floor. Shivers ran up his spine, but he kept on walking to the dresser. He opened one of the drawers, pulling out a gray shirt with black pants, something easy and not to out there. Pulling off his sleepwear, he put on the clothes and grabbed a brush to comb his messy, curly brown hair- which was getting pretty long.

He looked into a mirror, then sighed. His eyes went getting any better. He hoped for them to go back to green, not the yellow color. He does like the color yellow- yes. But everyone stared at him and called him names. He hated it. He hated school for that reason as well. His father doesn't know about the name-calling, because his son hasn't told him. And Sky wants that to stick that way.

Sky then grabbed the amulet. This was the most important thing to him- that was his mothers. She gave it to him in her final moments, when he was just a little kid, eyes still closed and crying. It was amazing, gold outlining a purple gemstone which glowed in the moonlight- magical. Amazing, magical.

He slipped it over his head and grabbed some dirty horseback-riding boots before running out of his room and into the kitchen. The kitchen wasn't much, they lived on a farm after his father lost his job as Mayor. So as a result, Sky was a strong young boy. He loved animals, and his horse and dog. The horse's name is Buck, while the dog is Chilli. Both animals are extremely loyal, and have different feelings for there own.

And Sky loved living on a farm. Its away from people, away from everyone who made fun of him. It was amazing.

He grabbed his leather pack and put it around his shoulder, for homework and books. Sky then rushed over to a table to eat his food- toast, eggs, and orange juice. Not a bad morning.

After he ate, Sky jumped out of his set. He smiled at his father, then said, "See ya after school? Can we go fishing again? I almost caught that shark!" His father laughed. "Sure, sure. Just tell me next time when there is a shark in the water rather than try to get it." He opened the front door for Sky, then kissed his forehead. "See you after school, Skylar." He added with a teasing tone. "Its SKY!" Sky called after him, now running forward.

On the way to school, he usually has a good twenty minutes before he sees people. This time it was different.

Sky was smiling, enjoying watching a couple bunnies play around as he walked past them. When the got scared and ran away, he thought it was just because of him. Bunnies and rabbits are usually very skittish, he was lucky to watch them for that long. He thought of it as a nice surprise.

But then he heard barking. Dogs? He thought to himself, then saw what was up. A new kid joined the pathway, a small dog trotting by his heels. The boy was about as tall as Sky, looked his age, but looked a little different. Dark blue hair swept over his eyes, and his eyes where a dark blue. New kid. Ah. Sky realized, shifting his head to straight forward, trying to not notice the other kid at all.

"Hey!", the kid ran over to Sky, then lightly smiled at him. "Are you going to the school around here? I have no idea where I am going- gah. It's very different living out here." Sky nodded, but continued walking forward. "Not much of a talker, huh? Well that's okay. I don't care. At least I know some- wait my name! Ha! My name is Squid, weird right? Named after an animal. What's yours?"

What's this kid getting at? "My name is Sky." Sky replied, carefully though. He didn't know if this was some cruel prank that the other kids where playing or this was actually real. "Cool name! Hey, both of our names start with S', isn't that cool or what?" He blabbed on about other stuff, sometimes Sky would laugh. Squid wasn't that bad actually. The tiny dog that was with him soon left after Squid told it too- a good dog. That's for sure. Sky soon noticed that they where getting closer to the village, and the name-callings...

Soon a couple more people came up to us. Four boys. A little older than both Sky and Squid. They where tall to, and actually pretty scary looking. Sky stepped back some, his face instantly looking down. "Hey there. What's up demon?" Ah yes. Demon. The nickname that he earned from when he was helping a little kid to her mom, but when the mom saw his eyes, she screamed 'Demon' in his face and ran off with her kid. That started it all.

Squid looked at Sky weirdly, then said to him, "What do they mean?" His voice in  a worried whisper. Sky didn't look up, he just shook his head. The boys continued though. "Oh your new- well Sky here? His a little different. His a demon. A devil. He looks like the evil God Herobrine! I mean, look at his eyes, evil looking. He earns the name devil and demon."

Sky felted tears rolled down his face lightly, closing his eyes. It wasn't like this bad- never this bad. They use to be just names. Now the meant it- since when did they mean it? He felt more tears roll down his face. A hand yanked up his head, forcing him to look up. "Look at them! Devil eyes." The boys hissed, then pushed Sky backward. Sky fell down, in  a crumbling heap. This is the part now that the Squid guy is going to walk away from Sky, and he'll be alone and that's one more person hating him.

"Well, at least he doesn't look like you."

Huh? Sky slowly looked up, seeing Squid standing in front of him. "At least his not a ugly thing like you. " Squid hissed at the boy. Squid was actually helping him? That's different. Everyone thought go Sky like a cockroach; ugly, gross, weird. Squid though- he was actually helping him. "Oh, the demon has a new friend? Who are you even?" The boy laughed. Squid glared at the four laughing boys, then smirked. "My names Squid. Squid Inkwell, and I am new around here. But one thing I have seen before- people like you. My dad has to work with them all the time! But your just plain cruel." He splat. "Go ahead and tell everyone that I am hanging with Sky, I don't care! As long as I am not like you-" he paused- "-then I'll be okay."

Sky felt happiness well up into his chest. Someone actually was standing up for him, caring about him. It was different- but it felt amazing.

"Hmf. You'll see. Let's go." The boy said, waving his hand up in the air and started walking away, but without shooting a glare at the golden-eyes boy. Sky flinched a bit, but still was kinda used to it. Almost instantly, Squid came over to help Sky up, who was getting up himself. "What? Do those guys push you around like that all the time or something?" He demanded. Sky shook his head, his eyes wide. "No no no, just usually tease me. That's the first time they've pushed me around and was that harsh. But I mean- I really like you as a friend, and your really cool and all but I really don't think it's a good idea to hang out with me-"

"What the heck are you talking about? I want to hang out with you! I'll help you get those idiots off your back, 'kay Sky? I don't care if the whole village hates you! Your awesome. Is that why you didn't really talk at first?" Squid asked, looking at Sky now more worried. "Uh, yes. I was scared that you being nice was a mean prank so I didn't really know what to do..." Sky looked down, a little nervous now. But he heard a giggle. "Well I can say let's be friends! Screw them, screw names. C'mon- let's be friends!"

Sky smiled, then looked up again. "Okay. Now let's get to school before we're late!" Sky laughed before running forward.

"Hey! Wait up!" Squid called after him, running just behind Sky.
