Squid's POV

The bastards.

They killed everyone.

They killed everyone.

My family.

My classmates.

Innocent lives.

I was shaking with anger, ready to rip the smirks off their faces and give them so much fucking pain like they did to my old village.

I hate them.

It was soon after the village was burnt down, five more people walked towards us. More Burners. I thought, glaring at them with all my hate I could muster up.

At first, I didn't listen to their words until I heard; "Alright, picking time."

Oh no no no no no.

This can't happen.

One or two of us will die if they pick out someone to join their group. Two of my best friends. Dead. No, I can't let that happen.

I started fighting the hard, dried rope to get free. The rope was rubbing against my skin, burning sensation beginning to grow painfully and slowly.

"Woah. We have a fighter- do we?" One of them laughed, followed by a few nods and mummers from the group.

Someone grabbed my hair, yanking me up so my feet couldn't even touch the ground. I glared at the men, still trying to kick them with sudden strength that I had none of.

I gritted my teeth, anger boiling over.

I was not in a good mood at all.

They laughed at my attempt of trying to run free- to get out. But nothing happened that was in my favor really- all I felt was the pain of the rope against my skin.

"So I'm thinking he is s good choice?" One of them asked, dropping me too the ground. I let out a moan of pain from the sudden drop- then closed my eyes. Tired.

"Yeah- let's see here, what about this one?"

They picked up someone else- who I opened my eyes for. Tempest. I tried wiggling again- watching at they looked at my shorter friend. He was scared- eyes wide. "Nah. I don't think he would do. He looks too puny- weak. Kill him." The woman said, tossing her head a different way.

The man holding Tempest nodded. "Yes 'mam."

I widened my eyes. No! No no no no! Tempest! I yanked at my bonds, trying to get out. I saw the man take out a knife, now Tempest was fully shaking in fear. The man laughed- before plunging the knife straight into Tempest's chest.

I let out a muffled scream- as I saw his body go limp.

Sky's POV

I heard everything. I was crying, tears slipping down my cheeks. I could hear Squid's yells of protest, the thumping of Tempest body, then the footsteps walking over to me.

I am not going to open my eyes. I can die- but I won't look at the person who will kill me.

I was yanked up by my hair, making me spit out a sudden muffled yelp. I could hear everything- when the looked at me and when they decided what to do to me.

Kill me.

I felt tears slipping out of my eyes, hearing Squid scream in fury. I started shaking- I was afraid to die. I don't want to die.

That's when I heard the new noise from the bushes. I opened my eyes, finding the face of to-be killer. Turning my head around, I saw- Squid's number one animal.

His dog, Usher. Usher was a big husky- with gray fur covering his back and bright blue eyes. He was young- and one out of two dogs Squid has.

Usher ran out, attacking the man that was going to stab me. The dog bit his arm, causing blood to run into his fur. The man yelled out, dropping me and the knife on the ground.

Third Person

Meanwhile- Squid had finally broke through the muffle and yelled out a command to his loyal husky- which was growling at the man.

"Usher! Get Sky free and get out of here!"

Being the loyal dog, Usher followed. The dog is extremely smart- and new who Sky was by his scent. Sky was utterly surprised, but as soon as he was let free, snapped back to reality.

"Get the boy!" The woman screamed, pointing at Sky in a fury. "Kill him and the dog! Two others help me get this kid- then let's go!"

Squid, in a frantic mess, screamed out a last command to the dog. "Usher! Take Sky away from this place! Now! And Sky- I'll find you! We'll find each other, okay?" Tears where starting to run down his face more, thinking that he might loss Sky now too.

Sky could see Squid through the mess of people. He nodded, feeling the dogs fur and grabbing for it- then nodded in a way too Squid. Young Sky was crying harder now- as the dog started to take off- away from Squid, Sky's home, and old memories.

Five Years Later

A tall young man walked down the hallway, shoes clicking through the hallway. His face was filled with determination, for since he had found a huge clue to the puzzle he was solving.

"Sir! Sir! The scientist has done it! He has made the potion- we are able to get out full strength now!" A smaller, more younger boy came running down the hallway- following the older one.

The older one turned around, and smiled. "I know- isn't that great? We'll finally show those Burner-Hunters a piece of our minds!"

"Yeah! Yeah!"

"Alright now- don't get too excited." A young girl- about the age of the man, walked toward the two boys. "But CeCe- it's good to be ready for this!" The smaller one protested, smiling giddily.

CeCe shook her head, then looked at the taller male. "Look what you've showed him. I swear Tempest- your the worst at this."

Tempest grinned, his dark blue hair sweeping over his gleaming blue eyes. "Sorry sis- just really excited on finally getting a advantage on him."
