Y/N's following weeks were busy— managing the volleyball team, track practice, and meets while keeping his grades up simultaneously. Truthfully, it wouldn't be hard to balance the three on a regular school week, but he had projects for two classes and was learning a new unit for another.

However, he couldn't tell his sister about his stress because she could make him quit managing the volleyball team.

Shimizu sighed, rubbing his temples as he stared at his planner. One of his projects was due the day before the first tournament, and the other was due the Monday after the game against Aoba Johsai (if they advanced, which they hopefully would).

"Hey there, mister manager."

Looking back, Daichi-senpai walked into the clubroom, smiling as he dropped a box in a corner. The older walked closer with curiosity. "What are you doing?"

Shimizu bit back a groan, with exhaustion seeping into his features. Why was aiming for the honor roll so exhausting? "...I-I'm figuring out my schedule f-for the week. I h-have two p-projects sandwiching the competition. I-It wouldn't b-be a bother n-normally, b-but I-I h-haven't finished researching f-for W-World History, and my p-partner in E-English isn't doing anything, s-so I have to do all the work."

Daichi-senpai hums and takes a seat by him. "Do you mind showing me? Some of your classes are harder than mine, but I took World History last year!"

The younger perked up hearing that. "...r-really?" Relief turned into confusion when he looked at the time. "...b-but practice i-isn't over?"

"Yeah, but Ukai-san is focusing on Asahi's back attack. Besides," A warm hand flicks the temples of his glasses. "I wanted to spend time with you. Now, show me this project. Exams are next month, and we can't have anyone on the team fail. Including you, Shimizu!"

For the next two hours, Daichi-senpai helped with research while Shimizu finished typing everything in the document. They were supposed to pick and research two countries on different continents and explain how their history was similar in a three-page essay that needed at least two hundred and fifty words.

Daichi-senpai passed the finished notes to him and stretched. "Finished. Goodness, I can't imagine how you deal with that for an entire school year." Sometimes, Shimizu can't understand how either, but he supposes having a good memory isn't all bad. In his opinion(from taking advanced classes every school year since junior high), the teachers make or break how well he does in any subject.

Sipping his water, Y/N airily chuckles. "...w-would you be s-surprised if I said t-this was o-one of the more manageable projects? T-The only reason I-I'm finding it d-difficult is that I'm b-behind schedule."

The captain raises an eyebrow. "How far behind schedule?"

"...t-three days."

A visible shiver runs down the other's back, wearily staring at his underclassman as if he were committing a crime. "You're scary, Shimizu."
