I woke Harry up the next morning by bringing him a heaping stack of buttery pancakes and a tall glass of milk, with some bacon and steaming hot coffee.
He was so cute when he woke up and he was adorable when he ate, so watching him eat in the morning was double the fun. His curls were messy and sticking up as he cut into the pancakes, dripping syrup down onto his gorgeous bare chest in the early morning sunshine while I giggled.
"You're a damn good cook," he muttered through his large bite. "We should really make this a regular thing."
"Me cooking for you?"
"Yep."
I just shook my head and he grinned, offering me a bite on his fork as I watched the morning news.
"You always have coffee in the morning," he spoke with a small frown as I took the bite. "Why not today?"
"I don't have any classes," I shrugged. "Nothing to do today. I figured I didn't need it."
He definitely wasn't convinced but he didn't push it, and we cuddled for a little while before he had to get up and go to his first class.
"Can't you just stay here?" I whined, burying my face in his pillow as he brushed his teeth and shaved in the bathroom. "You shouldn't have to work on your birthday."
"No, baby girl," he chuckled deeply. "That's not how it works."
"But I'll miss you."
He looked longingly at my half naked body and groaned. "I'll miss you too- more than you will ever know."
"Hey, Har?"
He beamed at me. "Yeah?"
"I have something important to tell you."
He furrowed his eyebrows at me and pursed his lips. "What is it?"
"You'll have to wait until tonight to find out."
"That is not fair," he informed me sassily as he crawled back onto the bed and let me cuddle into his side. He smelled like shampoo and cologne, mixed perfectly with toothpaste and the scent of laundry detergent on his clean black T-shirt.
"You're dressed so casually," I remarked. "Don't you usually wear a button up and nice pants?"
"Fridays are more casual," he explained, kissing the side of my head lightly as the clock ticked to seven thirty. "The kids like when I dress like them. I think they pay more attention."
I hugged him tightly. "They listen because you look hot."
"Jealous?"
"Incredibly. They get to spend time with you on your birthday and I have to sit here all alone."
He let out a deep breath and pulled me onto his lap, his lips pressing all over my cheeks and forehead while I tried to squirm away.
"Do you want to come watch me teach? You can sit in the back of the class where no one else does."
"Really?"
"Yeah," he laughed lightly. "Get dressed and we'll go."
"But won't someone see us pull up together?"
"The staff lot is empty until eight. I can get us there before then."
I quickly got dressed and pulled my hair back, then shoved a pen and paper into my backpack so it would look like I was there to learn. Really I was just there for the eye candy.
Harry didn't lie; we pulled into the back lot at seven forty, and there was not a soul in sight. I pulled my hoodie down to hide my face and Harry frowned the whole way inside, but I didn't have to ask to know why.
