As they came to a halt beside a pond, Star smiled. "That was amazing! We have to do it again sometime!" She said cheerfully. Forgetting about the hoodie on her head, she skipped into the forest. Dayna wiped sweat from her hair line. "Well she's very interesting. What are we going to do with her? We can't just walk into town with some nut job with magical hands and- wait, I could've sworn her eyes were yellow in that cave, but now they're pink." She said, pointing at Star, who was sitting in a tree, staring at a blue squirrel. Jack shrugged. "Maybe she has contacts?" Dayna scowled. "I doubt it. Anyway, we need to make a camp for the night. I can take Star to look around." Jack nodded. "I'm going to see what useful things I can find around here. See you" he said and turned to Star. "Dayna's taking you to find a place to rest." Star nodded and scurried down the tree. Dayna shook her head playfully and pointed at Star's head. "You still have that top on your head. Star touched the top of her head. "Oh! Yeah, I should probably take that off." She pulled it off and shook her hair. Dayna and Jack gasped in unison. Her hair wasn't blond. It was white.
"What?" Star asked. "What is wrong?" She said, turning around. Jack finally found his tongue. "N-nothing. I uh... Yeah. Bye." Jack jogged into the undergrowth. Star shrugged and turned to Dayna. "Come on, I think I found a willow we can build a tree house in." She said and skipped off. Dayna sputtered for a but then blankly followed. In the afternoon, they had found the willow and started to set up camp. Jack and Dayna collected wood for the tree house, and Star tried to build it. Eventually she gave up and went to help Dayna while Jack built it. Dayna coughed awkwardly. "So you're... Uh... Magic?" Star nodded. "Yeah. You are too, right? Everybody is. I think." She added, narrowed her now- pink eyes. Dayna looked at her weirdly. "I'm not magic. Neither is Jack." Star shrugged. "Oh. Ooh! I think I found some really long board-like sticks!" She ran over and Dayna followed. She saw what Star was talking about. Wooden board covered the forest floor like wood tiles in a house. In between two of the boards was a motion sensor with a blinking red light and some packs of explosives underneath. As Star reached for the first one, Dayna called out "NO!" and lunged at her right before they exploded. She landed hard and heard Star's desperate cries as she blacked out.
Jack had finished the tree house and looked up at it proudly. "Not too bad" he said contently. A boom and two screams sounded in the distance. "DAYNA!!!!!" Jack quickly sprinted toward the direction of the sound. Star was crouched over Dayna. She was passed out, dirt smeared on her face. Star was frantically shaking her shoulders, making a high pitched mourning sound. "Star! What happened to Dayna?!" He said and slid beside her.
Star's eyes had turned yellow again. "I-I do not know. We were collecting wood and she yelled at me. Then she lunged for me and blew up." She said quickly. "I'll carry her to the treehouse." He scooped her up in his muscular arms and started towards home. Star stumbled beside him, obviously in shock.
