Moaning lowly into his shoulder while his hand crept up her abdomen, under her bra, and his lips dragged themselves down her collarbone, "Ricky..." She whispered, pushing her bare stomach up against his which was rocking into her with need.

"What?" He slurred, capturing her lower lip between his teeth as his other hand caressed her bare thigh.

"... I don't want ... the cookies ... to burn..." She panted between breaths, pressing her palms against his shoulders as soon as she heard the oven timer beep.

He gave her a rough kiss and smirked, waving away her concern, "They're just cookies, Ames. They'll be fine -" lowering himself back down and dragging his lips to her chest, not wanting to break the most intimacy they had had since right before their daughter's birthday.

The past 12 days had been a whirlwind. The day after Emma's birthday, John so graciously brought home some kind of bug from his preschool and gave it to his sister, who gave it to their mom. Thankfully, he didn't get sick and was able to help take care of everyone for the 6 days it consumed their apartment. After that, he lysoled and sanitized everything. The small space smelled like citrus for 3 days, making Amy want to gag.

"You sure you don't want the bed?" She sniffled softly, pulling the covers up to her shoulders, eyes heavy from sickness and exhaustion. She felt like death and knew he was also exhausted from having to take care of everyone, but he wouldn't show it. He just took on the brunt of helping them all since he was the only one who didn't get whatever awful bug was plaguing their apartment.

Shaking his head, he gathered the used dishes up and put them in the sink. "I'll be fine on the air mattress; you just get some sleep." Walking back over and putting the back of his hand on her forehead with a crease in his brow at the heat radiating from her body, "Your fever is elevating - try not to move very much if you don't have to." Leaning down to peck her head with his lips, "John's fever broke this mor -" Sighing heavily at the loud cry erupting from the other side of the apartment.

Flexing her fingers against the sheet, Amy groaned and put her hand on his bicep, using it to help herself into a sitting position because if nobody attended to their daughter quickly, it would only get worse. "I'll get her - "

Shaking his head again, Ricky pushed her gently back against the mattress, "No, you won't. Stay in bed. I'll get her and bring her in here. Her fever hasn't broken yet either, so it's probably best if she sleeps in here with us. Let John get some rest."

After their survival with that, she took on longer shifts to make up for the time she had to miss from being sick. She would come home very late, leaving him to do the kids' nighttime routine without her, and finally wrestle into bed just as she got in. But that wasn't the worst part because Emma had started up again with waking up in the middle of the night screaming, and he couldn't pinpoint why. So there came a whole other debacle as they argued the past week about their daughter sleeping in bed with them because now she wanted it every night. This made Amy mad because she was old enough to sleep in her crib, and it annoyed Ricky because he had to deal with her meltdowns at all hours of the night.

So it was no wonder that when Amy came home a half hour early from her shift, they took advantage of the time, pawing each other in a heavy makeout session that had their clothes scattered around the floor, leaving them half-naked and eager to proceed with their impending nighttime activities.

The oven beeped again, but he was too busy shoving his tongue in her mouth to care, hooking his fingers into the waistband of her underwear with a groan. Pushing her palms more into his shoulders, Amy broke the deep kiss and gave him a pointed brow, "They're going to burn if I don't get them out of the oven!"
