The news only enlightened Stampy, he got to be the hero in one of the fairy tales he used to read. He had always kinda wanted to be a hero, even as he grew up.
He wasn't too excited about leaving his friends though, no doubt about that. Especially his new interest: Sqaishey. He'd definitely miss her.
He sighed. Can't anything be not complicated?!
He was cut off by Ash coming into the room, sitting down next to him on the stairs.
"So how about I tell you what I came here for?" He said grinning. Stampy laughed. He had totally forgotten that Ash found something that could be crucial to helping them defeat Hit the Target.
"Yeah, what's up?"
"Well, you told us something about finding our own power once you found yours, and I'm guessing you have?" Ash asked.
"Yeaaaaa...."
"Well I think I found mine. "
"Okay, what is it?"
"Can you shoot lava at me with your power? Mousie told me what you can do. " he said, a bit nervous.
"Uhm...Okay..." Stampy said with a confused look on his face. That was random. Why would he want me to shoot lava at him? Stampy thought. He shrugged and decided to just go with it.
Ash's face lit up as he stood up in the corridor. He put down a bucket in front of him and walked a few inches back.
"Ready?" Stampy asked, already visualizing lava shooting out of his paw. He walked a bit down the corridor before turning to Ash and held his fuzzy paw out.
"Yea, hit me!" Ash said in return, with a confident smile on his face.
He knew he didn't imagine what he did in his world, and he hoped he didn't; if died, he wouldn't respawn.
Stampy shot lava at Ash, and it went zooming through the air.
It hit Ash.
It didn't seem to hurt him though, it just slowly receeded into his skin. He held up one finger and pointed it at the bucket, as the lava came out of his finger, filling the bucket. Stampy looked in wonder as Ash displayed his feat. It was amazing!
"Woah! That's really cool!" Stampy yelled at Ash.
"Well that does describe me," Ash laughed. Stampy joined him. He was happy that he knew one person could do something useful, while joking and being happy, not that the others couldn't.
"Stampy! " he heard Mousie scream. "Your needed by Sqaishey!"
Stampy hurried up the stairs, but felt a bit nervous. He felt a bit sheepish around her, especially now that he knew he liked her. Stampy knew she liked him too, otherwise, she wouldn't have kissed him, but he still felt a bit unsure.
As if reading his thoughts, Mousie patted him on the back as he opened the door outside.
"Don't worry, she talked to me last night. She feels the same way. " she comforted. It made him feel a bit better, but was snapped out of his thoughts as he watched all of his friends who were trying to find their power, float around as if the world had no gravity. The only one on the ground besides them was Sqaishey, focusing on the floating subjects.
She noticed Stampy and it snapped her focus.
"Stampy!" She yelled as everyone fell to the floor either yelling ow or laughing at the others. She ran and tackled him in a hug. Heat rose in Stampy's cheeks as she pulled him in a tight hug.
Everyone else laughed. They pulled away and got off the ground.
"So you can probably tell what my power is." She said, lifting them back up into the sky, protests ringing in the air. Stampy looked in amazement. He had never seen a squid, a bear, a penguin, pretty much any of these creatures fly before, and now it was happening right before his eyes.
He felt is own feet rise off of the ground as Sqaishey lifted him, lowering the others. He looked down as he rose, his friends turning into little ants.
Stampy laughed as she zoomed him through the air, making him do flips and barrel rolls along the way. They hear shouts of awe and hollering as he did several little tricks, flying like a bird.
Sqaishey levitated herself up to him, spiraling upwards as she went. She lifted everyone else too, allowing them to move about, gliding through the air.
She raised herself up to Stampy, and didn't hesitate to kiss him. And Stampy didn't either.Stampy walked around after the little flying fun they all had, while the love bug kept biting him. His head swam and he really couldn't do a thing about it, well, until Lee came up to him.
Lee could tell Stampy was daydreaming, and he hadn't seen him this light and happy since Melanie, but he was never this light and happy.
"You really like her don't you?" He asked, a small smile on his face.
"Yea, I can't hide it anymore really, I might as well listen to all of the teases they're giving me. I mean seriously Squid?!" He said aimlessly.
"Oui! I heard that Romeo!" Squid shouted from the room above. Stampy and Lee laughed.
"So, you want to see my power?" Lee asked. Stampy's eyes widened.
"You found your power?!" Stampy shouted as Lee nodded sheepishly.
Stampy took Lee's shoulders in his paws and shook him senseless.
"Tellllll meeeeee!" Stampy laughed. Lee regained his balanced as he laughed along with Stampy. He took one bear paw and let Stampy look at it.
"Pick up a bucket of water and pour it over your head." He mumbled under his breath as Stampy's eyes glowed a dark green color. Stampy did as he was told and when he was finished, Lee released his grip on his mind, ready for his reaction.
"How did you do that?! It's like I had no contr-" Stampy stopped.
"Hypnosis..." Stampy mumbled. Lee just laughed.
"Yeah, earlier I made Squid throw a pie in his face." Lee chuckled.
"And I'm still not happy about it mate!" Squid yelled from upstairs. They only laughed as they heard him sigh.
"Wow! So many people are discovering their powers!" Stampy exclaimed.
"Well, it was easy for us, but everyone else is struggling, like squid and longbow. What we need to figure out is what's going to happen in this war, or what world we need to go to next. " Lee said, suddenly turning serious. "Right now we're entering this blindly."
Stampy considered this for a moment. What should he do first? Being prepared in the war would help, but they couldn't walk blindly into other worlds.
"I guess we need to...prepare." He said certain. "If we walk into a wrong world then we can walk back into the portal. " Stampy looked confident but didn't feel too confident. He couldn't really turn back time, so this could be a big turnout for them.
Lee nodded.
" I'll help train combat along with Amy. Mousie is training people with powers since she knows the most about Magic." Lee reported.
"Okay..." Stampy said, suddenly remembering the bad side of the prophecy. He was going to live and die legitimately as a Martyr...
"Are you okay Stamps?" Lee asked, concerned about his sudden depression.
"Yeah, I'm...fine. " (no your not! Wait, what am I saying?! This is my own book! I'm confused. Screw it, keep reading) Stampy said slowly. Regretfully, Lee turned around and walked back to the doorway. He looked back a concerned look before leaving Stampy to do whatever he needs to do.
Stampy regretted not telling his bear friend his worries, but it had to be done. He didn't want his friends worrying about him, or getting downhearted and stepping out of the war for him.
Stampy pushed the thought out of his mind as he started waking to bed. The day had gone by horribly fast, and he knew the next three days would go by fast as well. He sat down on his orange sleeping bag, as the others started walking in and laying down to go to sleep. He could hear the faint sounds of googlies hissing outside along with the slamming of doors and the panicked breathing that followed.
Laughs filled the halls as it happened, people clearly loopy from lack of sleep. Just when Stampy was about to close his eyes, Netty walked up him and hugged him on the ground.
"Thanks for saving me." She muttered, thinking he was asleep and walked away. Stampy felt his heart melt as he realized something.
He was already becoming one if those heroes in a fairy tale. (BOOKCEPTION! Sorry had too. Read on)
