The Truth

Throughout the week, I questioned myself. I thought about what could come my way. I tried to block out these thoughts that seemed endless. I tried everything. No matter what I did there was never a moment that he wasn't on my mind. Why does Josh seem so different? Better yet, why am I attracted to him? The deeper I dug into my mind, the more I felt lost.
Friday came sooner than expected. The first week of school was officially over, and I was already tired of it. Josh and I would always meet by the second floor vending machines everyday after school. Being the person I am, I was always the first one there.
" Hey man! Wanna go to Taco Bell and than go swimming at my house? " said Josh as he ran around the corner. I was always drawn to his smile that never seemed to leave his face.
" Sounds good to me, I'm starving and we have survived the first week!"  And than off we went. Josh didn't have a car so we just took mine. My car was a bit messy. By that I mean it's my garbage can. What a pig. He's never gonna get in. All of a sudden the passenger door opened and in he got.
On the way to his house, we stopped at Taco Bell and decided to go in and eat. We were quite hungry so we got a 12 taco box. Five minutes had passed and our food was ready. I stuttered " D-Do you wanna go get it?" Josh jumped up and basically ran to the food. I was nervous and Josh could tell. Good luck explaining this to him. Once he got the food, his face brightened up way more than usual. That's when I knew it. He likes Taco Bell a lot as well.
" Are you alright? You seem pretty nervous." Josh asked with sincerity.
" Yeah I'm fine, just a lot on my mind." Wait did I really just say that? Now he is gonna see me as who I really am..
" Wanna talk about it? For all you know, I could be feeling the same way. " Josh slurred his words under his breath this time. My body went numb and suddenly my appetite was gone. After I completely ignored his statement. Time seemed to slow down as there was an awkward silence between us.
About 45 minutes later, we arrived at Josh's house. His house was three blocks from mine. I needed swim trunks so I went home and grabbed mine real quick. Once I got back Josh wouldn't answer his phone. His parents were out of town for business and the front door was unlocked so I walked in. He left. You scared another "friend" away yet again. I peered around for him for about five minutes until I heard a splash in the pool.
I ran outside and cannon balled into the pool to join Josh. We talked for what seemed liked hours. I found out that he plays the drums. Little does he know that I play a few instruments as well as sing. The sun began to set and his parents still weren't home. Josh got out of the pool to call them.
" Tyler, they aren't gonna be home tonight. They got stuck at the business meeting so they are gonna stay at a hotel. Do you wanna stay the night?"
"Well" Don't do it. You'll embarrass yourself. He can't know. "Why not?" I said as I began to text my mom to let her know.
After we both showered and got ready for bed, we decided to watch a movie. I had an urge to let him know. I knew it had to be heard. I didn't truly understand the situation. I began to speak until we made eye contact. Our eyes seemed to speak as we both leaned in at the same time. You kissed him. What are you doing? I was drawn to him. I don't know why but he smiled at me. He was so cute sitting there with his messy blue hair.
" I thought I was the only one." Said Josh.
