Chapter 33- The War Within

In a dark corner of the world, Salem's lair was now home to some of the nastiest or dangerous criminals ever to set foot on Remnant. Neo and Roman could feel nothing more than intense pressure and fear choking their throat's as they didn't dare speak a word without the witch Salem's permission. Nonetheless, they were honestly surprised to see the legendary huntsman Qrow Branwen's sister, Raven Branwen standing by her side.

Despite also being surprised, Cinder soon felt a surge of energy rush into her at the Branwen woman's arrival. Her eyes flashed a yellow stream of fire as Raven's eyes flashed a red flame in response. Cinder knew what this meant, she had found another maiden, another source of power for her to steal. Despite being in her master's presence, the greedy witch just couldn't sit still, she had to have what she felt she was owed.

"THANK'S FOR THE MEAL!" Cinder roared as she lunged for the Spring Maiden, who clenched her sword hilt as she was moments away from drawing it, intending to slash this girl's head off.

"What the F-!" Was soon echoing throughout the dark room full of black slime and beowolves who howled as they sensed one girls distress. Cinder didn't even get within 2 feet of Raven as she was grabbed by a large shadowy hand resembling her Grimm arm, dangling upside down in the center of the room with her mouth gagged with black slime.

The taste almost made her wretch, it was like sulfur and rotten eggs mixed with animal feces, but all this discomfort was nothing compared to her horror seeing the furious face on her master Salem as she waived her hand, controlling the demonic hand and drawing her slowly to her eye level.

"I have use for this woman alive right now. If you dare forget your manners in my presence again child, mother will have to "discipline" you severely." Salem coldly and bitterly growled as she plunged her hand down Cinder's gagged throat, ripping out the ooze in what was obvious to Neo a very painful manner as she saw Cinder's eyes grow bloodshot and heard her muffled screams.

Cinder convulsed a bit on the floor as she was soon released, shivering after her horrific experience, all the strength to even stand gone as Emerald rushed to her side and supported her up as she gagged.

Roman glanced at his lover and winced, seeing her own skin paled with fright as badly as Cinder's right now. As much as he was afraid as well, her despair gave him the push he needed to work up the courage to try and break the tension tormenting Neo. Forcing with all his might, Roman managed to barely squeak out his thought.

"W-Why is that h-huntress here?" Roman stuttered as he pointed to Raven. Adam chuckled, very amused to hear the fear in his tone.

"2 filthy human's giving pathetic displays, what a wonderful circus act I've witness today." Adam thought.

Salem gave a wide grin as she could feel the discord in his heart, it fueled her strength being part Grimm and all it, so she decided to spare a little time and answer his question.

"This one use to work for Ozpin, but has now come to see the futility of opposing my power boy." Salem sternly said.

Raven gritted her teeth as she averted her eyes, her pride obviously struck by those words. Yet Raven kept her hands away from her sword, every inch they came closer to it she could feel the cold aura Salem would give off, as if daring her to press her luck and try. Raven knew better, she knew Salem was right, she could never really pose a threat to her so it was a suicidal thought, one she was desperate to shove away.

"Y-Yes. Indeed…..master." Raven bitterly spat those words out. Salem was very amused by the blow to Raven's ego.

"Speaking of Ozpin. From what I gathered from my brother only he and Ironwood know about me so far. But seeing as how they are Ozpin's lapdogs…" Raven said dejected and Salem nodded.
